  • I already mentioned this on the 'Freebies received board' but I thought I might post it here too, just FYI. I emailed Quorn and just told them that we really like their products and that I'd like to be added to their mailing list for any future special offers or new product information and they sent me £3 of vouchers.

That's the first time I've ever done that ! I should point out that we do genuinely buy their products quite often. I'm really chuffed.

  • My mum eats always quorn, I complained once(genuine) and they sent me £5 of vouchers.
  • I received a £5 voucher from Proctor and Gamble as their new 2in 1 gel ruined our clothes in the washing machine (To cover calls and extra electricity for what was recommended).
I emailed them originally, then had to call a (freephone number) and after doing that was suggested by the woman I spoke with they also refunded £65 for the clothes that were unfit for wear :j.

    Well impressed with them :T
  • I used to do this all the time but haven't contacted anyone for ages. I think I might try again.

  • Can we have a seperate thread for freebies people get from contacting companies, as opposed to one joint one for this and freebies received after complaining about something? Think it would make it much simpler and more efficient :)
  • Also, can it be made into a sticky?
  • bought some minced beef from Tesco a week ago with the intention of making some Spag Bol...got it home and popped it in the fridge as I'd be cooking it the following day...

next day...mid pm...took mince out of the fridge to find the meat had turned a rather icky shade of grey/brown and the plastic over the top of the pack had ballooned so tight you could bounce a pound coin off it...

took it back to tesco (only a two minute walk away) - where the lad on CS pierced the lid, took a sniff and went a mild shade of green...after refunding me, he filled out a form and I was told that it might take up to a month till I heard anything...got a letter *yesterday* explaining that after some investigation, the problem might well be with the supplier and they were in contact with them...and in the meantime, here's a £5 gift card as an apology...

    thanks tesco...:p

Has anyone noticed a direct correlation between the expense of the item and level of customer service - or is it just me?

Jacobs - full packet of crackers in bits (87p) - responded within the day,£3 voucher in return
Walkers - one pkt of wotsits stale out of a multipack, that was originally bogof(worked out at 22p a pack), response recieved within 24 hours £5 voucher
Cadburys - Tiny (and I mean tiny:rotfl:) twirl in a multipack(30p) - £4 voucher in post the next day

Marks and Spencers - Big, very big lumps of uncooked potatoe in their crispbakes (ok - only a £1 - but this was M & S). Three days to respond, take remains (dog eaten them:mad:), wrapper (binned:mad::mad:) and receipt to store and they will refund. Even though I had explained I only visit there once a month (not local to me) in my email. OK, my fault the remains and wrappers were disposed of but I gave them over to the dog/bin when a reply was not forthcoming after 48 hours.

Haagen Daaz - Before I tell you about this one - I must say I love thier Baileys icecream and told them so in the email. Mr T did not have any in stock so bought some Pralines & Cream for a change. Queried the lumps of what seemed to be whole hazelnuts (after checking the ingredient list) when the tub said pecans. Also mentioned that I thought the the definition of praline was crushed nuts. Got quite a snotty mail back saying - no.
"We would like to inform you that Pralines are a family of confectionary that are made from nuts and sugar. The Pralines in our Häagen-Dazs Pralines & Cream ice cream are made of pecans that are coated in caramel. When Pralines are crushed they are called Pralin, a product that is often used as a topping or addition to desserts and cakes.
We hope that the information that we have been able to provide answers your questions."

    Thats me told then:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
