No I rang them once to tell them of the change of job. I never even mentioned child care. All I said was nothing else had changed.0

Would there be a problem with my account that they are not telling me about. If I asked would they have to tell me.
Just getting concerned now as my sons nursery is 2 weeks late. Worried he will be chucked out. Cheers0 -
They are not allowed to tell you if the suspect compliance issues.
If there is a technical issue theire wouldnt be a problem telling you.0 -

I understand what you are saying , and i did exactly what you did a few years back you are just ringing to report a change of circumstances , and that was your job.Childcare never changed as one job rolled into another. And they wonder why you get fed up with tax credit staff.0 -
And they wonder why you get fed up with tax credit staff.
On the other side of this, a lot of tax credit staff have to deal with people coming on the line with this kind of attitude that the tc staff are incompetent...nobody should have to work with people showing them contempt for trying to help them. It can be very frustrating, especially when people become abusive for things like technical problems, and even more ludicrous things to get annoyed for staff for. I remember when I worked for BT, and the people would come on the line treating me like an idiot (I'm actually highly qualified and was doing a temp job while I was weighing up my options) and twice there was an actual fire....flames everywhere, and people were angry on the phones that they'd waited so long, and didn't want us to leave the convo...wanted us to take their phone numbers and c/b. I don't think they were thinkin....if flames were moving in, there wouldn't be much left to phone from, plus no job is worth staying longer with the risk of death there so high. Sorry for the rant....but it just seems like staff can get a raw deal too.0 -
I have always found the general tax credit staff friendly and helpful-the only problem I have ever had was with a young lady in the overpayments dept who kept repeating like a parrot over and over again ' we must inform you that is now policy to reclaim 100% of all overpayments, you may as well just agree a repayment plan with me as we will get the money back from you' this despite the fact that no decision had been made or letter sent out (3 months on this situation remains the same).
I have been very lucky in that my award has always been very quick to be changed etc,and I agree with subsonic that is very unfair to have a go at all CTC staff, especially as they themselves must be dealing with both ignorant snotty people and people who give the wrong info or fail to give full info.
I have found it so helpful to get advice from here from people who work in the system so I know what to expect when I ring CTC and would hate for them to leave the forum as some people were being rude and accusatory!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0
