    Evening MOT,

It is the local secondary school I have the job, and its for 1 1/2 a day, £10.50 per day, so approx £210.00 per month.

I am sorry to read that it appears to have got worse today with your Ex.

Please take time to read your local councils website and look up any job vacancies in your area, you have come such a long way in the past few months and this is another hurdle you could do without, but we are here to help, just shout and I'll come running, anything I can do for you, you just let me know.

Wishing you a peaceful nights sleep.

Something like this MOT would be ideal considering you have the twins to think about.

Mot, don't rule anything in or out as regards to job, there are a number of jobs you can do within term time.

I hope the above isn't classed as interferring, I wouldn't want you to think that.

Dash it, it was a typing error. I'll get my coat:D

No seriously, have you tried Monster and jobsite, they are internet job searching sites and when my OH got made redundant he found temporary work by placing his CV on these two sites, the top tip is too amend your CV every other day and then it goes to the top of the list of new CV's added:D .

Quick update - I have rung and applied for Income Support (Thursday) and rang them back yesterday to tell them that maintenance now covering until October, they said to put a note in with the forms when I get them through for signing.

Rang HB on Thursday too to tell them and confirmed via email. So yesterday I had to send another email confirming that it won't be necessary to re-assess until October.

I have also applied for 4 jobs with the NHS and one with the Royal Vet College.

Was up job searching on computer till midnight last night and then had a dreadful sleep  !!

Note to self: Do not job hunt so late into the evening, take a milky drink to bed at a reasonable time and settle down and read your book missus ;)

    Hi MOT,

Sorry you haven't heard anything from me, and have only just caught up with this thread, have been helping sort my aunt out again..

Here are some local job links for you:

    Dacorum Borough Council
    http://www.dacorum.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=1500
(note the part time admin job)

And here's one for Herts CC
    http://www.hertsdirect.org/jobs/
If you go to the library they should also have a list of the jobs there too.

BTW, can I please join the queue to give your ex-husband a good talking to? At what point did the legal thing to do (ie stop payments in October) become the morally right thing to do? Actually, I was gobsmacked when you said what he should get because I thought he would have been on a much lower wage to allow both you AND YOUR TWO CHILDREN to go through all this cr*p in the first place. GRRRRRRRR!!!!
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

    Hi Viva :hello: ,

Good to 'see' you here! Thanks for your surprise about ex hubby and his salary etc, it makes me feel better particularly as you know what I went through a few months ago.

Also, thanks for links - I'm driving myself batty trying to find something as I have worked out that I will be quite a lot worse off when he stops paying and that will be too much to cope with as only just scraping by now!

Been to get school uniforms today with ex - he has bought those (its a condition of the Court Order) and it has set him back about £750 all in. Mind you I knew that whilst he was down here I had to get everything for them!

    ((MOT))

I was gonna say what doens't break us makes us stronger, but bluddy hell what a year it's been for you all.
Keep your chin up, you've beaten far worse and with a bit of luck ex hubbie will be back in work without too much of a gap.
In the mean time, it might be worth emailing the HR depts of the councils and finding out if they have a specific agency that they use for short term contracts.
I work in the public service sector, and we only use one agency for our temp contracts.
It might just give you a foot in the door while you're waiting for something to come up :)
    Take care hun

    Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your post - it did make me smile!

My ex has never been good at conversation and the thought of trying to discuss something like that with him seems improbable, but who knows? It is a good suggestion and I will certainly try and discuss it on Saturday when he comes down. Something to tide us over for a couple of months to cover rent and utilities would be helpful certainly.

I always try to be friendly towards him but he has a strong defensive streak (always has had) so it gets a bit wearing having to pander to him hence we got divorced!
Ask him for say 6 months to a year's worth of maintenance to tide you over which by that time he should have another job, if he won't entertain the idea then maybe go to the CAB and ask if there is any way that you can claim maintenace from the pay off.

If you are going on benefits then get your claim forms filled in now and send them asap, some people on here have waited up to 3 months to see any money, although going by your twins ages there shouldn't be a problem working school hours and you will be better off as you can claim wtc and you will get to keep your maintenance, if you get some :)
