How about doing something that she never gets the chance to do. Off the top off my head:

    -vacuuming her car
-suggest you have the boys and she goes out for an evening with her friends even if its just to a friends house for a cuppa and a chat.
-How about taking the boys to the park so that she can have a bath in peace
    - The ironing
Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.50
  • how about on of these occassionally

    a cd she mentioned
a dvd she said she wished she'd gone to see at the pictures
a magazine she buys herself sometimes
a book she fancies someones biography perhaps
    a pair of earrings
a necklace to go with the last new top she bought
a thank you for being you card
a joke book, laugh together when the kids are in bed
send her a e-mail saying you love and miss her today
a new pair of slippers to put her feet up in
    a 'nice' nightie
    a toy boy
hope these help you out the last one is optional1111
Its not how far you fall but how high you bounce back that matters

Right ladies (and lads too if you have any good ideas!) need to tap the collective inteligence on here.

I'm struggling to find ideas for little token treats for my OH - not for any particular reason just "because".

Now here's the rub - she doesn't like flowers (hassle to arrange etc), isn't vastly into smellies and is on a diet so chocolate is out. We have two small boys so giving her some kind of luxury "treatment" creates more stress than it solves through having to arrange childcare etc. Some of these get done anyway but I'm after other ideas not necessarily ways of making these happen etc.

I'm not talking spending masses here (not because I don't want to spend the money etc) just other equivalents of bringing home the odd bunch of flowers out of the blue now and again to remind her that I love her and that she is valued.

    What am I missing?
Sorting the childcare out for her as well.;) Either by arranging it or by booking the day off work yourself.

    I'm so materialistic!
It would have to be "something" rather than a chore being done for me to make it a real treat.

    Bottle of fave wine
    Make-up
Computer game (if she's into this)
Cross stitch kit (if she's into this)
Smelly candles - Jo Malone if you're rich!!!
Sexy knicks (make sure she doesnt think these are for you though)
Cinema tickets to Mama Mia for her and her (Mum / Sis / Friend) with a big bag of popcorn
Tell her she can spend up to £x on anything at all that she'd like from ebay - your treat ...?

When DH wants to treat me and DD he gets a DVD we'd like (not a Rambo or Die Hard!), glossy mag, a Twirl and a lottery scratch card each. He then brings down warm dressing gowns and makes us a nice cuppa. Then leaves us alone with the BIG TV whilst him and DS1 and 2 adjourn to the other room to play GTA on the small TV!

If it's arranging that's a problem then a nice flowering pot plant.

If it's things you're looking to buy and bring home, rather than things to 'do', then I would agree with trader girl and say a cd of someone she likes, or a compilation cd of the type of music she likes, or a dvd she might like to see, or a magazine. They are only little things but shows you are thinking about her while you're out, I love things like this. Sometimes OH comes home with a silly little sweet for me that he spotted in a newsagents or something.

Once he spotted helium balloons near the flowers in asda and instead of picking up flowers, he got a balloon that said i love you and brought that home instead. That really made me laugh and was nice.

    - Are you budgeting and is there something she's denying herself because of it? I know when I'm having a tight month, I cut out buying all magazines, so a stack of my favs as a surprise would go down well then. Maybe there's something you could treat her too occasionally that you usually cut out...

    - Are your boys old enough to play on their own quietly for an hour or so? Maybe you could find a mobile hairdresser / beautician to come to your house to do her hair or nails.

    - You could take the little ones out one Saturday/Sunday morning and give her a lie in.

My idea of a treat is quite simple (and cheap) hot cup of tea brought to me in bed and then dd taken out so I can have a little lie in and then bacon sarnie and newspapers once they return!
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:
