Hi, thought I'd better introduce myself as I've been posting/lurking on quite a few threads for some time now..
I've been amicably separated for 7/8 years - we like each other but just couldn't live together - have various children and grandchildren, think I've lost track of numbers but my bank manager always locks the doors/cash machines when he sees me coming at Christmas..and to think I buy him a bottle of smelling salts every year, the meany.
I took early retirement due to illness 3 years ago. I'm in recovery from that but got COPD 2 year ago, I can't win ha ha! Entirely my fault for the many years I spent smoking, however it has to live with me, not the other way around. I'm not a self-righteous ex smoker, far from it, but I wouln't wish this illness on anybody and would love the gov to ban tobacco, in whatever form, completely. Not going to happen though..
When I'm not on MSE site I'm sleeping, cooking, doing the laundry or shopping...in other words it's my second home . I also spend a fair amount of time on survey and clicky sites, it pays for all the little comforts I wouldn't otherwise be able to afford on a pension...like heating, light, hot water, food...just kidding(maybe). I do voluntary phone service for a national organisation 1 or 2 nights a week, hence I'm usually to be found reading the threads at silly o'clock in the mornings.
I have two feral cats, bro and sis called Ying and Yang, though it should be Seek and Destroy, and a scatty dog (German Spitz Mittel). They all think they own me...oh, wait a mo, I've just remembered they do!
That's me in a (long winded cos I talk too much) nutshell, belated Happy New Year to everyone

Hi everyone, I'm a self-employed jeweller aged 30. My DH has just left our business to become a carer for his disabled mum who lives with us. No children of my own, but a stepson who's 23. Although I've been more of a lurker than a poster on MSE, but have grown to love the 'old style' money saving boards and everyone on them! Thanks to everyone who takes the time to post their wisdom, I have learnt a lot so far and will no doubt continue to do so... x0

Hi everyone...I'm another lurker-newbie....
I'm a full time cop (hence funny shifts), single mum to DD aged 7, and currently studying part time for a masters. All of which probably explains why I quite like retreating into the web and reading posts on here, rather than tackle the real world of an evening! We bought our tiny 1 bed flat (just DD&I...but it makes it less scary than saying I!) 3 years ago and are trying to sell it now, hoping to move to somewhere bigger. I'm desperate to have a bedroom of my own before I'm 30 (mid 2010!) And to have paid it all off before I'm 40.
I had a couple of days off sick with stinking cold thing over christmas, spent some time surfing the web and discovered you all. 15 days later flat is unrecognisably clean, finances are in order with a robust budget, changed bank/credit cards, reclaimed lots of £, and have the flat on the market. If, heaven forbid, my internet connection disappeared tonight I'd already have a zillion reasons to thank you all!!! :beer:0 -
Hello.
I have lurked/posted on here for a while but never thought I would have anything intresting to say but echo Crazy Lady I have found a new love for cleaning/cooking/stardrops since learning OS! I LOVE IT!!
I am a 23 yr old and live with my lovely OH , we bought our home back in 2006, we both work full time. I hope to pay our debts off ASAP so we can start a family of our own in a few years, he also thinks I have had a knock to the head as the last 6 months or so(since I found OS) I have been producing tasty HM meals and keep the house lovely and tidy!! Lol
He doesn't know about my MSE addiction.
So Thank You all I am sure you will be "seeing" more of me

Hi
I am another lurker,
I work full-time in child care in a nursery, and also am doing a degree part-time. Any one whose knows child-care knows it doesn't pay much hence am on a pretty tight budget, having also recently bought my own house with my OH. Have found the tips on both this board and the other boards on the site very interesting and helpful!0 -

Hi all
Lurked for a while, done some posting.
I am an unpaid carer for my disabled husband.
I have got 1 son, who is 23 and married and has given the most gorgeous 3 grandkids you could ever imagine (maybe I'm biased)
Any way, I've tried some of the OS cleaning things and they are great and will save me a load of money in the future :beer:0
