In HB at Deepdale Preston today, were trays of 6 of the healthiest, bushiest annual bedding plants I've seen in any of the local retailers. There were petunias, begonias, bizzie lizzies (sp?), etc, for just 99p a tray, near the door.

Up the road, much sadder specimens were £2.99 a tray in Sainsbury and Aldi's at £1.99 were looking a bit parched and leggy.

Well worth a look if you've got lots of pots to fill!

I agree with how healthy the bedding plants are, I've had mine for two weeks in baskets and they are doing really well. I've got petunias in mine and marigolds (I think). When I was in last week they only had busy lizzies left but they might have more stock in my local now (Rutherglen). Wish I'd got more!!
  • Rolls of Garnett's 'Alchemy' luxury gift wrap, 49p:

alchemy.jpgI got the 2.5m pearlescent paper in Rioja Red; and the 1.5m reflections paper (described as 'holographic glitter'!) in Evergreen. It's cool: the glitter does indeed reflect back different colours - on the green paper, it reflects pinky-purple and silver. Metallic paper is also available.

;) If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

They have bedding plants in Llandudno every now and again but I think they sell very quickly. I have noticed that there are never any labels to say what the plants are so if you can't tell the difference between a marigold and a busy lizzie you'll be taking pot luck.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

Don't worry Andy2004, we don't have a HB in our area either - the closest one to us is about 26 miles away:mad:
