No. The error was by the cashier.

Definitely depends on the store yesterday I was charged for 2 packs of yogurts instead of 1 and was given double the price back without asking.

Picked up two boxes of Ariel wshing tabs currently on offer at £4.00 per box. However the product was mistakenly stacked behind a mccleans buy one get one free SEL. I purchased two and explained to customer service that I presumed BOGOF was for the product purchased. They offered £4.00 refund I chanced my arm and pointed at the Our Promise board and was given £8.00 DTD back!!

sorry if this is the wrong place but if you are charged twice for one item should you get dtd?
went tesco yesterday and was charged twice for one item went to cs and got my money back but should i have tried for dtd?

yes you should have got DTD. This example is covered in a folder that all CS desks should have - a 'miscan' entitles the customer to DTD.

They might try and say it was an error - but then all pricing errors are human error of some sort anyway. Fact - their promise is to refund double the difference back if you were charged more than the price label. Fact - you were charged more.

Spent £25 in tesco to get the £25 off any phone, the discount did not get taken off. Went to cs who refused dtd because it was the checkout operators error. I said that was not my problem, i was overcharged......and refuses dtd point blank:mad:
  • I bought a Lexmark 15a Colour Printer Cartridge from Brighton store today. It had £16.97 on SEL but I was charged £17.95. Received £1.96 DTD at customer service without any prompting. "Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick" - I suppose!
