Just back from Tesco where they had an offer for Old El Paso Fajita Dinner Kits. The offer is buy 2 for £3 for the Roasted Tomato & Pepper one but the shelf label doesn't specify the flavour.

I bought 1 Tomato & Pepper pack and 3 Original Smoky BBQ packs. When I checked my receipt I had been charged £11.88 for 4 packs so I went to CS and said, "they're on offer, I've been overcharged".

It was a bit of a (friendly) battle but they relented in the end as the shelf label didn't specify the flavour on offer. They refunded me (and doubled the difference after I asked for it) so I spent £11.88 and had £11.76 refunded. Not at all bad - thanks Mr T

The CS woman had taken the offer label away when she realised, but they may still have the labels in other stores. HTH

Got the same on in my store and yes if you mix you get overcharged......and girl on CS wasnt having it. Said I have to have both the same....told her not what offer says but she wouldnt budge! This would have been my first DTD but no joy!!

Next time ask her to phone customer service head office as you feel her decision is against company policy!!

Also not really a misprice but a good bargain opportunity particularly if into coupons:

Oasis Drink 1.5 Litres on Promotion at £1 ( good price anyway as small bottle usually 80p). Anway on certain bottles there are coupons behind the label for £1 off a 6 pack pack of mini Oasis bottles. So you can in theory if your Tesco store still allows coupons off anything go back in and buy the oasis 1.5 litres drink again with the coupon and so on and and so on and so on...

Obviously this would not work in stores with strict policy ie must buy exact product but for other stores a great chance to get a few bottles of Oasis for low pay out.
  • Hello, ive just come across this post and find it amazing and cant wait to try and get some stuff DTD, could someone just give me an explanation on what to do once i have bought the item ?
Do you go to normal till and when the item is scanned say to the checkout person that is wrong, and then they will give you double the discount? or do it after by going to customer services ?

Do i have to state i want DTD, and what if they say no ?

    Thanks, lee
  • NO!! dont mention it at the actual checkout! you pay for your stuff, then wander off to the customer service desk. There is (should be a board) at customer services which says 'if things don't add up, we will give you double the difference'. Good luck
    skint but in luv :kisses2:

Purchase the item first, ( Do not make the cashier aware of the overcharge as they will just call a manager to sort it and you won't get DTD)

Then take to CS and show receipt and state you were overcharged. They should refund you DTD but depends who your dealing with, some only offer the difference, if this happens query it and say is'nt it double the difference?

Stand your ground here and state you believe it is Tesco policy usually they will hand it over but you must stand your ground.

Example: recently bought DVD said £3 on cover charged £5 took to CS woman gave me £2 back i stated i thought it was DTD on any overcharge she said it wasn't.

(clearly lying as she has been working there for about 2 years, its my local Tesco and see her there all the time and i am sure i am not the first to state the DTD policy)

She went off to talk to Manager returned handed me £4 with a grunt.

Should of been around last year when the policy was full refund and get to keep the item. I got loads of stuff including two Xbox 360's for free.

    Stick it to the Man!

Weduced! to £8 but wan out on 22.10.08
In chart at £9.49 but look for large cardboard pwomotional stand stating less than half pwice £8
Even better, lady on CS miscalculated and gave me DTD of £3.98 instead of £2.98 so only cost me £6.02 - My first Cwistmas pwesent:beer:

Isn't that what you meant to type?
