Milliesmum wrote: »Found Danepak bacon at £2.80 BOGOF this morning. Yellow shelf label said BOGOF, and packs were pre-printed BOGOF. Expiry on yellow label said yesterday.
I bought 2 to begin with to see if it would scan at BOGOF or at single pack price - I was charged for both packs.
So it was straight to the car with the 1st 2, then back into the store to pick up a further 10 packs for the freezer.
Since I was charged for all 12 packs, I went to Customer Services to claim my DTD. The CS lady was v pleasant and had a "well done you" attitude, and a smile. However, the manager in charge of the bacon/chilled Dept had a face like thunder, and was NOT happy about having to refund over £33 !
He did say, though "I could withdraw them all from sale, but I won't".
Needless to say, when I went back in to the store later on, all the remaining packs had gone !!
There are all sorts of wine offers finishing this week, but I suspect they will be extended at the last minute, as the till spits just lately have been advertising a 50% wine event coming up next week I believe.
I was a little more restrained - I just 'bought' 10 packs
It looks like Sainsburys currently have the same 'manufacturer discounted' packs in stock too, though theirs are on a 2 for £3 offer.0 -
What is DTD?
Sorry just read the front page, so if I buy something for £4 and it was meant to be £1.50 how much do I earn?0 -

If you paid £4 for a £1.50 item, then you were overcharged by £2.50.
This means that you'd get DTD of £2.50 × 2 = £5 back.
As you paid £4 originally this means you would get paid £1 to take it away!If you find my post helpful please press the THANKS button.0 -

Sorry but still new at this:
If the shirts scanned at £3.75 and you bought 4 packs then you would have paid £15. Double the difference would be £18 so would they not have paid you £3 to take the shirts and not £12????
Either way really good but cannot work out how £12 up plus shirts??0 -
The total price of the shirts should have been £6 so op was over charged by £9. DTD equals £18. £18 - £6 for the shirts equals £12 up.
Well done op.0 -
I think heskpesk is right - the dtd is off the price paid and not the shelf price.0

You are correct. bettyboopdaloop is mistaken.
Betty is concentrating on getting £18 back on DTD and that the shirts should have cost just £6 (4 x £1.50) and is "winning" by £12 AND the shirts.
She is forgetting that at the till she paid £15 (4 x £3.75)
The "win" was £3 AND the shirts for free.
