    IMO the money you are given for a DTD is compensation, not a partial refund.
    Claiming the DTD doesn't necessarily invalidate Tesco's guarantee of a no quibble full refund on the item you purchased.

    This is true - it does not alter your statatory rights (and I do know what that does and doesn't cover) or the refund promise made by Tesco.

    Jane - fraud, when I last check the OED (Oxford English Dictionary, thought I'd help out, since it isn't explained on page 1 post 1) is obtaining something by deception. That simple isn't the case here, is it. And to clarify, the board does not exclude having prior knowledge of what you will be charged at the till either, just that you have been overcharged. You clearly don't like what we do, but don't make out it is us that is committing a crime - Tesco has already done that.
