  • Hi there

Did they take the SEL off at baguley ?? its my local but not been able to get there due to illness ? Anything i should look out for as i can go tonight

    Thanks in advance

Yeah, unfortunately they took the SEL off (though you never know, another member of staff may put it back up again @ the wrong price:rolleyes:)

While I havn't got any positive suggestions, I can warn you that The Mist on DVD has a SEL of £13.xx, and is stickered at £7 - so looks like a great DTD.
However, the SEL it simply out of date - it will scan at £7. I learnt this the hard way, and had to get mine refunded; ofcourse I didn't do this until after I had secured the earlier mentioned webcam DTD :D

Tescos price integrity seems pretty poor at the moment - Irlam Tesco for instance had 3 different shelf prices for the Lexmark x4650 printer; unfortunately the lowest of the 3 appeared to be the scan price.
I also spotted a good number of mismatches between the sticker & SEL prices on their DVDs - however they were all minor £1 discrepencies, only worth exploiting if you were buying the DVD already.

I was at the till behind a lady today. She had bought a lamp that had been reduced but noticed it had gone through at £15. Cashier sent somebody to price check it, and it was definitely down to £7.50.
It was a white shade and silver stem desk lamp, can't see it on .com. But worth keeping an eye open for. This was at Tesco Extra Bidston on the ground floor reduced aisle next to cosmetics etc.
Sadly I didnt have time to run back and grab one.

Did see the lady on the way out and explained dtd to her....she had no idea it existed!

    Had my first DTD run-in!
Bag of deli ham, reduced from 71p to 36p on the black & white label, and then a yellow sticker on top with reduced from 36p to 10p.

Went through at 36p, so went to CS who said that as it was a self-scan till, DTD didn't apply
I said "it doesn't mention that on the poster behind you"
She said " that's because we are a Tesco Express and we don't have the full rules up, they are only put up in the big stores"
I said "It's false advertising to offer a service you don't provide, and there is nothing on that sign about self-scan being excluded OR where you can find the full terms and conditions, which you have to do by law"

I can do the spiel - I used to be a teacher :D

got 52p back, in hard cash!
52p - 36p = 16p for me and a handful of deli ham for my cats:j (now on Tesco own brand, so I owe them!)
Learning to live with an IVA - no overdraft - no credit cards - no safety net - very very scary _pale_ All advice gratefully received! :A

Found my 'Maiden Misprice'- I hope it's of some use to somebody

Tennants Lager (Silver ones) SEL 79p- Scans @ £1.00 each.

21p overcharge, DD 42p= each can effectively 58p

I had 12, so I'm quite chuffed with this as it was something I was getting anyway......
DH nearly dropped me in it though when at the till and noticed the overcharge as the SA was putting them through the till- had to tell him to shut up through gritted teeth and said to SA that it was ok, as I was going to be getting them regardless of offer :rotfl:

Didn't you mean "Tesco's price integrity is momentously poor" ?
