Bought a set of six reversible pastry cutters in a handy round frosted box to store them in.

On one side they are plain circular so make a normal round shape but it you turn them over they have a round scalloped edge.

So, you are basically getting 12 different cutters which will be ideal if you make your own biscuits or just to use for cutting pastry if making pies etc.

They are made of a quite sturdy white plastic and the box is a white frosted round one.

Would be ideal if you intend to make your own mince pies this Christmas.

    ;)

They look a bit like these:

Bought a pack of 4 kitchen rolls for £1, most other stores have increased the price of these to around £1.50-£2 mark.
  • Spotted a stack of Formula One 2008 season review DVDs in Livingston the other day:

  • We got a right bargain today at ours.

These books were on the book shelf, they had one copy of Cinderella, Nemo, Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan, so 5 books.

Took them to the till and the man scanned one, and it came up as Disney Books 8 assorted, he thought that it meant a set of 8 and called the manager, she agreed and said to me, she could do them at 75p the lot :j

I was expecting to pay £1 a book so i'm well happy.

Just checked on net and theyre £3 a book at WH Smith.

Its a good little xmas pressie sorted...

Also got the David Walliams Book, A Dora Summer Annual and a neil morrisey book for OH.

  • Robbiedoggy, I totally agree with your post about the flying lanterns, we bought half a dozen earlier this month to let off after my son's birthday party and they scared the life out of us.

We have used other ones before which we purchased from Play.com but these were about £2.99 each. The Poundland ones seemed a lot bigger and didn't heat up as fast as the others which subsequently affected the ability to fly. Firstly they had trouble getting over the 6ft wall in our garden, then they descended into our neighbours garden, then the wind got them...

One went into a garden about 5 doors down, another nearly took the head off a guy walking down the street and the rest...well after swooping across 10 gardens and barely missing each hedgerow they all disappeared...

If you do get these try to do it in a location with plenty of space around you and make sure that there is no wind
  • To add to the negative comments about the lanterns. It's not safe to use these in the countryside either. The metal frames could get chopped up with straw into feed bales and cause animal problems too. Link to newspaper story.

    It's only a game

  • Found an excellent bargain in the Taunton Poundland this afternoon: a leather iPod Nano cover (for the new narrower model). A similar cover is about £30 at the Apple online store and I haven't seen it cheaper than £19.99 anywhere else.

I was really pleased to find this as I have wanted one since I bought my Nano, but was put off by the price: it works perfectly and I would heartily recommend it as a stocking filler.

Wanted to share as I have found some real bargains through this thread!
