went hunting and got the coke glasses today to put in my movie hampers!!! thanks for that tip OP!!

also my toddler loves bob the builder and has been asking for a build set (work bench and tools and hat) for xmas we have already got the work bench and tool set.

i was going to buy a hard hat from the ELC but i saw in the diy and work section of my poundland they had yellow hard hats!!!! all looked like kids ones if you ask me!!!

much too small for an adult but a great bargain for me! we already have loads of bob the builder stickers at home so i'm gonna put one on the front of the hat and i'm sure he'll never know the diffrance so paid one pound but saved myself over a fiver!!! bargain!!!!

    A movie hamper ?
Is that like a food hamper, only with movies in it (and Coke glasses!!) instead of food ?
  • Got a sewing kit today :D Not the most exciting of buys bit extremely useful. It has lots of different coloured thread, an unpicker, things to help you thread, pins measuring tape and.. um.. some other stuff.

Seemed to be old stock from the Wilkinsons Home range, same branding as a lot of the cooking/kitchen things that poundland sell.

:rotfl:yes i take people on picnics and only provide them with dvd's and coke glasses to eat!!:rotfl:

sorry i should have been more clear the movie hampers are gifts i'm putting together for xmas! instead of just buying my brothers a dvd each i'm making a movie night hamper with the dvd, popcorn, pick and mix, chocolate and beer/pop and the coke glasses!!! i'm putting them in a basket and wrapping them nicely as xmas gifts!!:D

got the idea from this site!! they look great and cost well under a tenner each to make!! ( depending on what dvd you use!!):money:

the coke glasses go great in them!!:T

Go to the thread about Special Occasions in the forum, you'll find out all about Movie Hampers and Pots of Gold and lots of other things!:D Some fab pics of them all wrapped up that people have done. I'm doing movie hampers. DVDs or DVD rental vouchers, and all your goodies like Popcorn, doritos, pringles, sweeties and juice. The glasses are great for that, I got mine in HB so not as cheap as Poundland.

After I posted above, I went and googled "movie hamper" and the top hit was this old MSE post from 2007:

I guess it must be a "woman thing" - can't imagine a bloke being so imaginative or going to such lengths. For me, a Christmas hamper is something with a Xmas pud, some mince pies, cranberry sauce, and a bottle of cheap fizz. ;)

Be careful what you wish for if you get a Christmas Hamper this year :rotfl:

Sorry, couldn't resist when I saw this post :D
