(Re the 50p items) these aren't items I really buy from Poundland, but HUKDers are saying:

"Some of the core range are good value - the Macaroni Cheese pasta bake, but some are what they usually sell for 2 for £1 - ie, Oreo biscuits and facial wipes.", "all the items listed with the exception of the toothpaste & the bolognese sauce were 2 for £1 before this 50p event."

I tend to buy the Bird's 3 for £1 Custard or Rice Pudding from Poundworld anyway.

Just got back from my local Poundland and they had lots of Xmas wrapping paper, cards, decorations, Xmas hats and stockings, etc all for 10p each.

I was in Hartlepool stores today and Christmas stuff was still 25p.

Was still 25p in my 3 locals too, still picked up quite a few stocking fillers though.
My local Clintons' had roll wrap at 10p a roll today so may aswell go there and have a bit better quality.

I still find it amazing the Poundland sell those 18 packs of AAA and AA batteries for £1 and other retailers keep selling them for more. I know they're not the "best" batteries, but they do the job for a long enough time!

Totally agree. I can't remember the last time that I bought batteries from another retailer.

They're good enough for putting in the kids' toys - especially when they don't turn them off properly and waste the batteries anyway. I don't mind if I've only paid £1. Tearing my hair out if I'd spent a fiver!!!!
