Tenth Anniversary 500 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
Yesterday I bought a pack of 8 x 36g bars Wonka millionaire's shortbread choc bars BB 07/14,packaged in a clear bag with 'amazing value' written on. Great value I thought :)
  • Do not buy the strimmer line as it is not fit for purpose. I suppose you only get what you pay for and I paid for 2 different thicknesses. they both lasted abut 10 minutes. "ABSOLUTE GARBAGE"

You may laugh at me (my friend did at the time) but when you can, keep the receipt. It hasn't happened often but I've returned items that haven't worked properly, or just fell apart and got a refund. Was a few weeks ago now, but I recently returned a torch that refused to work...even bought the batteries out of Poundland at the same time! They let me choose another one, and I tested it in the shop.

Ages ago I got a refund for a really rubbish mobile phone speaker (had a lead that went in the 3.5mm headphone socket) that was WORSE than the mobile's own speaker!

It may only be a £1 but those £s all add up!

I took back WINDSCREEN WIPERS :rotfl:

Bought them the day before MOT was due, existing ones had lost a bit of blade edge (torn off when frozen to ice), so needed new ones.

    FAILED the MOT

"Fortunately" NOT JUST on the wipers.

One of them cleared OK on the "up" stroke but smeared on the "down" stroke, so took them off and took them back

Got a "proper" pair from somewhere else

Yes, but I was replying to fatboy 66! :p He may not know, or not feel it's worthwhile, and it was meant as friendly advice.

In LouLous' defence I read your comment and thought how rude. I read it as a complaint that they were repeating themselves.

This was also on HDUK. Investigated a local branch but only saw the 4 packs of Nice Creme; the 100g bars were two for £1 so settled for these instead.

Eta: the millionaire's shortbread is simply delicious. Made mincemeat of a whole bar single-handedly over the course of yesterday :o
