In Exeter Poundland today (the one opposite WHSmiths, they had some Fab Effex craft kits for kids tucked near the checkouts.

These are a kind of mouldable paper that kids can make things from - DD (7) had a kit and seemed to quite enjoy it although as with most of these craft things, it didn't quite live up to the advert. There was a fashion doll one where you can decorate the doll with dresses and accessories, and an animal one where you can add bits to it. Its on Amazon for £3.99 and £1.99 postage.

Thanks for the tip, mine has been lying around unopened for quite some time and I have been showing it off to anyone that will look to demonstrate the bargain-fest that is Poundland. I had no idea it is noisy though!

Pepa Pig and tickerty tok annuals in Harlow - will keep my 2 yr old very happy.

Best thing is I had already bought the peppa pig annual from amazon for £4, so went to return it and they gave me a full refund and told me to keep the item so will now give it to a friend's little boy.

Just brought two of the Fab Effex kits for stocking fillers, I always have a sneaky look inside gifts from pound land just in case they are not very good or broken, and I can confirm they look great! Certainly not worth £12.99 that they are selling for on Ebay but easily £5 odd. Also brought a mini pop up pirate, 2 hair wrap towels (minnie mouse and tinkerbells although they had disney princess ones too), these are all great. Also brought a version of tiddly winks...sadly myself and my work collegues have just tried it out and it is dismal! Almost impossible to get the blighters to hop let alone get them in the little scoring dish lol!
