They were with all the straws and other drinking bits like stirrers and cocktail umbrellas in ours, in between the food and the gift bags. Hope you have some luck finding someVfM4meplse wrote: »Fill it up with a G&T, stick a strobe light on and watch it glow as you dance in your boob tube
Sounds like funAre they made of glass or plastic ?
They're made of plastic, but they are reasonably weighty with all the electronic gubbins in the base.
ETA: Ooo I like the magnetic nail vanish, even prettier than I thought. Much nicer than the crackle stuff (yuk). The stripes move in the light! No split nails yetSo so SO tired of being ripped off, and mislead
Hope sharing saves some pain.0 -
Horsham poundland now have the L'Oreal colour riche nail varnishes in stock and also a silver max factor eyeshadow in a tube with a brush, kind of like a mascara.
The L'oreal varnishes are currently £5 in Boots and the shades available in Poundland are also the same as the shades available in Boots, so current stock.0 -
I found Breo watches in Aylesbury today, there was blue, black, pink and I think purple. http://www.watchshop.com/unisex-breo-venture-blue-medium-watch-b-ti-vt4m-p99939880.html0

I found the most gorgeous Winnie The Pooh books in the Bolton store yesterday. Original designs (from when they were first drawn) and lovely little stories about Owl, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Owl, Kanga and Roo and Christopher Robin. They're so nice I bought myself and my God daughter a set haha! Only thing that lets them down is one typo0

Found the donuts in Stratford when I was passing through yesterday - was looking for foam ones, but these were shiny nylon "strands" - so bought two in case I lost one. Also bought some Sally Hansen nail varnish.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hey everyone. I went into Poundland today and saw a "Rimmel wake me up instant radiance shimmer touch." 14ml
Original price £4.99 but at poundland, (of course!) it was only for a pound. There were plenty left in stock of both colours as I spoke to the manager, and I've also seen some really good cosmetics like nail polish and eyelash curlers. Today, I got one of the radiance shimmer touch and some toiletries in the Leicester branch on Gallowtree Gate (opposite Boots) Hope this helps make-up lovers who enjoy a good bargain like me.0 -

This pen is £3 in WH Smith a ridiculous price.
Woolies used to sell this pen for about £1.35 and I managed to snap up some for £1.20 in the dying days of Woolies - gosh that was Xmas 2008 ?
However they have been lost or stolen since then.
Poundland this autumn sold one 2/3 the size but otherwise exactly the same.
I now realise these were probably a special back to school offer and I should have bought more than one.
I love this pen:
A. As a courier driver it fits my breast pocket perfectly and I can "correct" customer's attempts to complete the paperwork with ease - yes I can leave it in the coal bunker, as you have got to go out.......but if I have not got a signature I don't get paid.....how would you sign it......Mary Smith ?
B. It totally comes to bits and can be refilled, using freebie pens from banks, hotels and charities, especially as the latter now come as a cardboard sandwich.
C. It is a design classic, made of real engineering plastics not to be confused with nasty brittle little sticks made from styrene or full of silly little bits of metal, It all simple clicks back together again like lego for grown ups. .
Forget 1930s Bakelite this is 1970s acetal resin technology.
Anyone seen any anywhere? There's 1 about 2 feet away from my armchair on the coffee table
A few years old, well used (the BLUE ran out quite a while ago - must put a refill in it) and as you say a FANTASTIC Pen
Seem to remember getting it in a Tesco Express (Esso Petrol Station shop) with 75% off for 79p or similar amount.
Thinking about it, I'm sure I tried it at home, then went back and I bought another 1 (sadly all that was left) - wonder where my new & unused one is ?
Mine is the same as displayed with the BLUE barrel (medium point 1mm - line width 0.4mm) but you can get a FINER version (I've never tried one myself) that has an ORANGE barrel (fine point 0.7mm - line width 0.35mm )
Regards buying a new one ..... BIC 4-COLOUR (4-COLOR)
IF you don't mind a different selection of coloured inks (PINK, PURPLE, TURQUOISE, GREEN) - in the Medium 1mm point 0.4mm line, then RYMAN currently have these for just £1 - LIME GREEN Barrel
http://www.ryman.co.uk/0820016004/Bic-4-Colour-Ball-Pen/Product
Actually, just noticed, the BLUE Barrel is also £1 IN-STORE (ONLY?? for quantity 1 to 3 - buy more and they cost £2.06/£2.18/£2.49 ??)
http://www.ryman.co.uk/0820016002/Bic-4-Colour-Ball-Point-Pen/Product
If Ryman is no good for you, several similar(ish) deals on AMAZON
TRIPLE pack for £5.99 inc FREE P&P
eg. http://www.amazon.co.uk/4-Colour-Retractable-Multi-Colour-Point/dp/B004OVS8PU
or a 12 pack for £18.31
ORANGE BARREL > http://www.amazon.co.uk/BIC-Colour-Fine-Ballpoint-Pen/dp/B001JKAWJ4
Alternatively try EBAY - for example
Found this (a BIC but slightly different barrel design & color = PURPLE RUBBERISED GRIP / 0.7mm line) 12 pens for £11.99 delivered
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400398557067
and there are plenty of others
Many thanks, I am spoilt for choice.
Anyway the little handbag sized ones are back in the Poundland in Basildon :T
I can understand why they have a problem competing , last week the stationery was in a shambles of a mess and some pens were being dumped at 20 for £1 or 16 retractables for £1. Drop a ballpoint onto concrete and, like toast falls butter side down, it will land ball down and probably give up the ghost.
Now all I need is a free supply of green refills.:D0 -
They had this year's Mr Maker annual in Chelmsley Wood branch today. No others spotted yet.0
