I've trapped a nerve in my back and a friend suggested heat packs to help. Found some in Poundland, thought it was worth a try and gotta say they are great. Put one on at 7am today and it's still hot now at 8.30pm! Amazing, and makes me so much more comfortable!

Hi I'm glad the heat pads are helping you but I ve recently had a trapped nerve in my neck/ back and I had to pay to go to a chiropractor in the end as I was in agony for over 3 months and my fingers still numb now and he recommended ice packs to bring the inflammation down . I was surprised too as there was I spraying it with that smelly Ralgex and it was making it worse. Ps I bought some ice spray from the 99p shop . Bargain Hth.
  • Thanks emerald21, will remember that for next time! I seem to be almost fixed now, phew! But will try ice next time, sure there will be one now I am getting old :p
  • If you spend £8 in Poundland you get a voucher for Thorntons where you can get 2 boxes of chocs for £12 instead of £20.

A Hello Kitty 2014 calendar in my local branch. It's an official one too :D

Also noticed some Calvin Klein make-up, but didn't stop to see what sort of things they were as my DS was having a screaming fit at the time. The joys of taking little ones shopping ;)

Picked up the Hello Kitty version of those springs (I'm old enough to remember the original Slinky!).

Saw some baby tights (looked like a decent brand, Baby Moon, in Argyle Street, Glasgow, earlier. Even found a link: http://www.sockshouse.nl/english/brands/)

At the socks/undies/tights section there were also tie and cufflinks sets (I got boyf a black tie, it looks pretty decent considering what it cost). They even had a "No 1 dad" tie and "Dad" cufflinks (might be nice for a little one to give at Xmas). https://www.dropbox.com/s/9tv7hijxvqhe3zh/IMG_0178-1.jpg 100% Polyester. It has the bizarre name "Ferrarius" on the tie.

Allura 2 x Styling Spin Pins (for fixing your hair in an up-do). And a pack of 3 x Brass Radiator Keys to try and sort out a cold-ish radiator before winter hits full-force!

Edit: And Disney Princess slipper socks, thicker than the ordinary socks and with rubber treads.

Is it too much information to say that I used the Allura Nasal Hair Trimmer on my, erm, bits? My boyf "tidied" away the heads of my rechargeable bikini trimmer ages ago and I've given up ever seeing them again.

I tried this out, as a cheap experiment. Think I actually prefer the Poundland trimmer (even though it's not its intended purpose)! You can remove the trimmer head to clean it..it's quite powerful.

*I bought my own to try, I didn't use my boyfriend's. That would just be wrong. :rotfl:
  • seen an only fools and horses 2014 calendar in my local one the other day then went around town to a few other shops and saw the exact same calendar for £3 and then £6

shocking how some of these places can get away with charging that

10,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Bought a couple of non-stick cooking liners earlier, had been looking for them for ages...!

Am v unimpressed with the Thornton's stock. Small pre-packed boxes of just 50-60g have been introduced whilst they run down their 86g bags. The bags of Classics used to be 110g. Talk about the shrinking chocolate hunt :( .

Damn you Poundland. I just pop out to pick up that "No 1 Dad" tie and cufflink set for my sis, and come back with more stuff for my niece's stockings!

From Argyle Street, Glasgow. Here's a Webkinz Plush Pet Carrier: http://image.usedfredericton.com/photos/02/01/25724101_614.jpg (I got the pink/lime green one, only colour they had in mine)

Webkinz* Mazin' Hamsters (some sort of online pet, goes with the bag, lots of colour options): http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/5/4/0/8/3/3/webimg/566950256_o.jpg

Lite Sprites Doll (I got Astra): http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eYv6ooHkMAM/TqVlnyCF8FI/AAAAAAAADQY/qmawyjohbiM/s1600/1.jpg About Lite Sprites (seems you really need a few of them, and/or the wand, to get the most out of the toys): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PzOxnmUzbU

(Edit: Ended up buying all four dolls. Home Bargains sells the Playsets and Wand apparently, looking into getting those. So much for spending a pound on a toy..have to research before buying ).

Got my oldest niece one of these red patent heart purses (the price is betrayed when you open it up, really, but not bad for £1, or for a teenager): https://www.dropbox.com/s/w2ey7dtseauuiud/IMG_0179-1.jpg (the red is deeper than the flash suggests!). Also in leopard, "quilted" black, white.

No 1 Dad cufflink and tie: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8wlyhwt0rafxkco/IMG_0180-1.jpg

Trongate, Glasgow Poundland has Weatherproof spray (for hats, jackets etc), and a differently-coloured cap is on a similar Waterproof spray can, for shoes.

*There seems to be more Webkinz animals available, from looking around more Poundlands (11th).
