Have a look around neighbouring gardens, as I'm sure any owner would be glad to get rid of them. They grew like weeds in my old garden and I couldn't give enough away. They took over a bed, and even when I dug them all up, they still popped up. Also, they look ok for a very short period, then degenerate. I'd never have them again0 -

I was hoping someone would ask me that. :DMy friends are bored with me going on about my diffusers.
You will need:-
Glass pots/vases, with a narrow opening (about index finger sized at the top)
Reeds.
Carrier oil.
Essential Oil/s.
Vodka.
Glass Pots.
Buy yourself some nice glass pots that must have a narrow opening at the top (about an index finger size) as you need the smell to go up the reeds. I used the £1 single flower stem vases from Asda Living section that had lots of different colours (red, green, blue, clear). These are just over 6 inches high.
Reeds
As a general rule, the reeds should be about twice the height of the pot. The Poundland barbecue sticks make good reeds as they are nice and thin and are £1 for 100. Much cheaper than buying reeds in a shop or on ebay. They are 11inches high, so not quite twice the height of my pots, but they work.
Sweet Almond Carrier Oil
You can use water, but the diffuser empties quickly and the essential oil is the most expensive part. I also found the reeds didn't seem to work so well with water.
Because I was making about 6/7 diffusers, it was cheaper to bulk buy the carrier oil. Last year, I found the cheapest company for this was http://www.naturallythinking.com and I think I bought 1 litre. I used the courier service as they didn't have the best reviews for things getting lost by Royal Mail. Mine arrived the following day. They do have a couple of shops in the SE.
Essential Oil/s
The most expensive part, but the most fun as you get to choose the smell. You can mix and match or get one already mixed. I wanted to smell these, so I didn't order online; well just the Lemon Essential Oil as I knew what it smelt like. I use a lemon diffuser in the kitchen. For the rest, I went to a shop and smelt their essential oils and choose a ready mixed one (Ylang Ylang, Rose and Jasmine) for £6. You might find it cheaper on a market stall? I read you can use about 10 drops per pot, but I put about 25 drops per pot.
Vodka
You need a splash of vodka per diffuser as this helps the liquid be drawn up the reeds. I just bought a small cheap bottle. Mine didn't work very well until I read this vodka tip.
These are quite subtle smelling diffusers, gently wafting; not the 'back of the throat' smell when you enter a room, that some shop bought ones are. If you want a much stronger smell, put in more drops.
Lasts for many, many months. I don’t know how long as mine with the Carrier Oil haven’t run out yet: and I made them last summer and only filled the pots half way.
Don't forget to turn the reeds every week.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Forgot to mention the Nair Wax strips - facial and body, 16 strips per pack for facial.
Make sure you check the box for contents; the first one I picked up was empty. (As discussed before, this happens a lot in £land with small, boxed products)
Also make sure you check where you place the strip. The facial strips work really well.... as I discovered when I took the skin off the 'cupid's bow' of my lip! Ouch!
They are £2.29 on Amazon so it's a decent saving.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Yes. It helps the reeds diffuse.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

The naked hair masks work wonders for your hair. My hair has never been softer or shinier, plus it's a huge tub of the stuff!!!:j:j:j0

@ asset2004: we love the Fruit Flakes here but now that the pack size is 18g they're often cheaper when on offer in the supermarkets. When they were 25g bags I stocked up. They're *very* sweet though, don't imagine that they're in any way healthy! DD adores the 'Fruity' bars, which are probably your cardboard ones :rotfl:
Thanks for this, will check the supermarkets. They are very sweetespecially when compared to the cardboard 'fruity bars' :rotfl:
