Saw Star Wars Clone Wars' glow sticks in Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul and erm, another one I can't remember, varieties, in Argyle Street, Glasgow earlier.

Also the Immodesty Blaize-written book "Ambition". No idea if it's any cop but it seems to be advertised as a Jackie Collins-esque bonkbuster. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ambition-Immodesty-Blaize/dp/0091930073/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_y

It was quite good, but it's a sequel of sorts and the first one was much better. Worth £1 i'd say.

Short-dated perhaps? (Not that they will last for 2 mins in my home :D)

Just checked and they're dated till 31/08/2013 :)
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

This might be of interest to make-up junkies. I found this in Poundland today, and it seems to be in all the Poundlands locally to me (I'm in Glasgow city centre).

This brand is from Walgreens in the US. Studio 35 Foundation* Brush:

Their brushes seem to get rave reviews on places like Makeupalley, though the closest match I can see online is this one (obviously this doesn't have the double-ended concealer brush tip): http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/studio-35-beauty-foundation-and-concealer-brush/ID=prod3909033-product#BVRRWidgetID

(Here's a c/p about application: To "stipple" foundation for an airbrushed look, dip the tip of the dark bristles into your liquid foundation and gently tap onto skin. This achieves a flawless, full coverage result with no streaking. Finally Buff into the skin with the flat, fanned portion, applying in a circular motion to mesh the foundation with your skin as much as possible.)

A friend of mine always uses a sponge with her Elizabeth Arden cream makeup, but some reviewers say they prefer a brush; so I'm going to pop one in with her Xmas present.

Saw Toy Story 3 mini torches at the toy section in the Argyle Street branch.

*Sorry about the typo, lack of sleep! It's a FOUNDATION brush.

Got a couple of these in Telford today. Mine has been swiped by my 5 year old because he says he needs it to brush his knees and it feels lovely. Looks like I'll be going in for another one. It seems to be nicer than the Dior one I spent £25 on. No books of any interest which was disappointing. Cars Mighty Beanz though which my son is fascinated by.

Not in my local store :( - took them to the till and asked the SA. Contented myself with some WD40 instead.

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!
  • In the Poole store I got the Ben and Holly annual as well as a 94m DVD of one of the Nickelodeon cartoons. (Can't remember which...something neuron I think)
I had a good look but found no more of the Collection 2000 Skyscraper mascara...it's good stuff if you see any.
I also bought a Disney Princess projector torch. Love Poundland for stocking fillers!
I was quite tempted by the unofficial Kate Middleton bio. Might be worth a go for a pound!
If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!

Thank you to everyone who post 'the gems', this is one of the most important threads on grabbit for me.

    :xmassign:
  • Parkhead and Motherwell....went into the Argyle Street one in the city centre yesterday and they had hardly any annuals in stock however the one on Union Street is the place to go for them...they had Barbie, The Wanted, Ben and Holly and various others.

At the Fort last night they also had GI Joe Bobble Heads but seem to be running low on any other decent stock tbh!#

If anyone sees any South Park or Family Guy ones in the Lanarkshire area could you please let me know :o

    Thanks for the heads up...

I saw South Park and family guy ones in kingsgate branch in ek but was a couple of days ago, might be worth a phone call to see if they have any left

Also saw the Margi Clarke autobiog in the Argyle Street Poundland a few days ago (she was in Coronation Street but as a Pet Shop Boys fan I remember her more for being in the video for "Rent"), actually, I think I might pick it up to see if she mentions them!!

Called "Now You See Me: Confessions Of A Working Class Diva". http://www.amazon.co.uk/Margi-Now-You-See-Me/dp/1906802521/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1355968864&sr=8-2
Margi Clarke (or Margox as I remember her) is working as a barmaid in a Liverpool pub nowadays. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2241530/Ex-Coronation-Street-actress-Margi-Clarke-reveals-works-pub-failing-acting-job.html

In Lancaster Poundland a couple of days ago they had a book about the band Genesis. Looked expensive and was a fairly big one at over 350 pages. Covered the Peter Gabriel days too (proper Genesis!!) so pretty comprehensive and looked like it was probably an official authorised product.
