  • someone needs to do a show on tesco i shop there twice a week and each time i spot multiple items that have sel infront of them that arnt for that item the sel is for the item but its usualy a larger product of the item and being more expensive than the sel says and it happens way to often to be a genuine mistake i think tesco must be making millions from people who dont check there receipts

In accord with MMM[#3953] and regret when people don't seem to understand cacthweight principles or basic maths when comparing price against item.

I suspect I was lucky, with sound NZ education and maths as 2nd nature in our shop during my childhood.

re:£land books. Best ever find was in the last year - bought all 5 Signed 1st edns of Martin O'Brien's 'Jacquot and the Master', having just discovered him in library and becoming instantly, forever, entranced. His writing about places/people/types I know so well, love ditto, turns me over and I think Jacquot is a happy vehicle allowing him to write sublimely of this territory.

Their Union Jack flipflops were requested for last month's trip down and were a great hit. I'm hoping there'll be more in today.

Also, the aqueous cream[500ml]is v. good as cold cream. V. like theatre slap of old days on stage, which guaranteed lovely skin quickly with the uses at rehearsal. Recommended - same scent as Ponds', too.

  • I bought some bottles of 1001 carpet shampoo yesterday from the Worthing store, carpet shampoo is usually pricey and the 1001 range is great!

  • Ive never loved poundland and never bought much from there as most of the stuff looks cheap and the brand stuff isnt good value compared to supermarkets so the programme just confirmed what ive always thought. Also i dont wear make up and stuff like that very much so none of those offers any good to me.
Out of interest will go in Stockton one on Saturday and scrutinise things after seeing that programme.

I love silicone spatulas too. Although I always leave a bit of cake mix for the little 'un to lick. They are also great for wiping out whats left in a jar, especially peanut butter and wiping greasy plates and oven dishes. Then I wipe the spatula on a used teabag and stick it in the composter.

Totally misread that.... wondered why you were sticking your teabag in the computer !!
  • Got some Polly pocket toys from poundland yesterday . They are the cutants ones you get 1 figure in the box - not seen these under £3 elsewhere thought they were alright for stocking fillers for DD. they were like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390329721002?hlp=false#ht_775wt_1037

I couldn't agree more, and the amount of products that you can find NO price for is beyond 'mistakes' too. People put them in the trolley to get a price at the till then forget, or can't be bothered to put them back. Tescos are VERY SLY.

I reckon I must drive them mad constantly asking for price checks/calling them over at SS tills to remove an items as it's too expensive, but if we all did this, maybe they would get the message?

Also, noticed that all bar one of the SS tills in our local are now only CARDS, no cash, what's that about?

I didn't watch the £land programme as I figured it would be the same old which we've all heard before. I've got some amazing bargains there. Of course you have to shop around, everyone knows that now, right?? But you have to weigh up, not everyone has a car to get to out of town supermarkets, whereas £land is much more accessible for many people. We don't have an ASDA for miles. Wish we did!
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Wrong SELs often happen when something cheap goes out of stock and someone gap fills the space with a more expensive item without first removing the cheaper price SEL.
