I struggled to get a GPS signal using the Navman software. I eventually got one after re-setting the Baud Rate to 9600 and then back to 4800. I then got my position.
However, I've just installed TomTom 5.1 on it and cannot get a GPS signal at all. Has anyone managed this? I'm choosing "Other Cable NMEA GPS" and using "Serial Cable on SP2" as the connection.
I'm going to try and update the firmware on the Mio and see where that gets me....0 -

you have the right settings I think (but try it on the com3 rather than the serial cable - after 30 secs will say waiting for gps.., but tt5.1 is notoriously buggy from what I have read you may be better running tt5 - i just installed tt5 on mine without a prob!!:j0 -
I tried TT5 before hand it didn't work either. I've upgraded the firmware now and will give it a shot. I noticed it now shows 9 satellites when I'm sat in the office whereas before it showed none. Will report back when I've tested it outside.....0

Works a treat.
For those who haven't already. I'd strongly suggest updating your firmware.0 -

Could anyone explain in laymans terms how to do this.
I am no whizz when it comes to these sort of things.
Have been to the website but when it gets into "adding such and such into the same folder etc.. " I lose it.
Also the warning about taking no responsibility worries me a little.
How safe is it to do this.0 -

I recently tested a Navman 520 and was dissapointed to find it does not include details of farms etc. in rural areas. Many of my journeys are to such. Does anybody know what would be the best system to buy for this. Additionally it also only searched on the first four digits of the post code.0
