The Pin 300 has a flip up antenna and there is a small rubber bung on that for an external antenna to be plugged into it. The Pin doesn't come with the external antenna, however they appear to be a standard fitmant as I know the external antenna which comes with the Mio 168 fits into the bluetooth gps unit I have.

I would assume a sepreate GPS unit could also be used...but it would need to be through the expansion slot.

  • Roger, thanks for original post, but i am spending a lot on this money saving forum.
I just couldnt decide between the 610 and the pin 300
    + points
    both cheap
    pin 300 - is mobile
pin 300 can be used for other things
    both are sat navs
    -points
read some bad reviews of pin 300
610 has no battery so isnt mobile
    not a lot of functions
    610 is entry level

so i thought buy cheap buy twice and opted for the 510
    reasons

has a battery so i can take on my mountain bike
    nice big screen
nearer the top of the range in its day
    more maps
way cheaper than it used to be
    easier to put in POI's

Hope i've done the right thing, just got to ask al lthe family for cash for xmas now to pay for it.
Thanks again rog. i'm a budding techie type now
  • Just found out that the navman pin 300 from microdirect doesnt have maps  Read the reviews.http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=11135&GroupID=0

It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
  • anyone know where i can buy a memory card with tom tom already on it, i have a pda palm and i have sat nav on it (map sonic) but its a bit older and i cant do by postcode.
