    dont be a d.i.c.k.

What you mean to say is your sat at your computer feeling a bit of a numpty because you THOUGHT you could talk down to me thinking you 'knew it all' when in fact youve proven to me you know absolutely NOTHING about this subject ;)

I aint the d.i.c.k. that has wasted his money here.

It isn't me that has wasted a fortune on bits of hyped up wire, after reading some !!!!!!!! from some so called experts on the subject, all they are experts at is extracting £££££,s from gullible/naive mugs.

Now if you can point me to a Freeview Receiver that has anything other than standard nickel plated Scart Sockets fitted as standard, then please do so, I have never come across one yet.

Resorting to insults is immature and only proves to me that you are incapable of mature debate.

You are also boring me now, so why not go and play with your bits of wire, that cost you so much, I could suggest an alternative use for them, but I don't need to stoop to the depths of insult to get my point across.

erm my freesat reciever has HDMI as standard because thats better than scart

and seeing as HD is the future makes more sense to me to use the "better" connections

    mature debate?????

Ive given a TON of information on this thread and youve come up with NOTHING. yes the nickle bits true but im afraid that the cables entering it STILL make all the difference. And on top of that there ARE hi fis that have gold plated connectors (Not freeview as its not HIFI enough to bother with). Lets get it right ~ you REALLY dont know what your talking about. Dont bother replying until you actually have something NEW to add to the mix eh. Ive better things to do then argue with some 'smart ar_se know it all' who quite clearly knows NOTHING about this particular subject.

Grow up, get a life and actually try to LISTEN when someones talking a subject they clearly DO know something about.

I was talking about freeVIEW not freeSAT. Completely agree with you there. In order of quality worst to best we have ~

    composite, s-cable, scart, component, hdmi

sorry i was just pointing out to Inactive what other connections you can get on freesat/freeview (which is freeview Inactive before you start just sent via different means)

oh and virgin do a V+ box that comes with HDMI as standard as does Sky (though paid for)
the reason why there are no other connections on freeview is because its pointless because the signal sent to our aerials can't handle HD hence why you only get HD via Sat or cable
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

Well gentlemen, sorry to barge in on your "debate" but the guy is right, every electrical item be it a cable or PC, TV, DVD player does have a "burn in" period, when a cable is first used say a signal cable like speaker wire or a scart cable is plug in over time the properties of the cable change, the resistance of the cable increases and can degrade A/V quality that is why HIFI and Video experts use oxygen free copper and other high grade materials to get the best from their kit, I could go in to all the Electrical Science bit but I think it will bore you so just take my word for it, if it helps at all I am a qualified Electronics Technician and know a little bit about this stuff.
    ;)
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
