I'm afraid they won't stop the damaging electrical properties of your carpet.

Or don't you want "increases in clarity, tonal accuracy, and dynamics"? ;)

Well, if they must be kept off the floor, not being an audiophile I can not see the technical merit in doing so, go to the "everythings a pound shop" and get a few egg cups to support the ferrit and cable assemblies, egg cups being made from typicaly ceramic material they will proved an excellent insulator.

The point is there is no technical merit. It's a con, designed to part gullible people from their cash, much like most things the audiophile world.

Like every "hobby" there is always commercial spin put on engineering data, I have worked with electronics since the age of 8 as a hobby, qualified as an Electronics technician at college, worked in the industry as an Engineer but keeping cables off the floor in my trade is called good "house keeping"

People have asked me to back my statements up and i've come up with a LOT of information. People keep asking for 'scientific proof' etc. Garbage. I've sat at home and done my own tests and without reservation I KNOW they make a difference. Ive used my own methods and tried ALL sorts out (with varying degrees of sucess). I understand people being sceptical because I TOO was one of those very same people. But instead of calling them numpties I decided to have a look at these claims myself. Which is how i've come to the conclusion that nearly every house in the uk would benefit from a decent mains filter (The Tacima is just a STARTING point, I use another personally) and cables really DO make the difference (But take a long time to run in) I refuse to try backing myself up anymore though. Either people believe me, they dont, or they sit on the fence unsure. I'm really not bothered. If anyone has any actual questions as to how I've come to these conclusions or would like help with their own set ups I will most certainly try to help in the best way I know how to. If its very clear to me that a person is just trying to wind me up then I shall ignore them. Wether people believe me or not I really dont care but I refuse to be called a 'liar' by people who really dont have a clue what they are talking about.
Im no longer playing your game ~ its my turn

I ask you sir to do the same. Give me HARD EVIDENCE that its a con and that cables etc do not make a difference

(Hard evidence does NOT mean going onto amazon.co.uk and picking out other like minded people that dont know what they are talking about or indeed this yank Randi (or whatever his name is) as theres FAR too many questions to ask where hes concerned). Lets see YOU come up with the goods if you would please kind sir. You refute my claims (and therefore calling me a LIAR ), so I ask you back up YOUR claims now and 'PROVE' that what I say is not true. I REALLY cant wait to see what you come up with.

Look, don't get wound up mate, if it helps I agree that better quality cable makes a difference, for A/V applications, oxygen free copper, 102 Strand cable etc. ;)

And your sound too, cheers for the little bits you've put in here

And dont worry, i'm quite used to forum banter (and wa*kers) and know all about sticking up for myself :D

Im just kind of gutted that this place of all places has such numpties on it. I was expecting it to be all friendly and full of advice. Instead its full (or at least has MORE than its fair share) of people with nothing better to do except slag its members off!
