Hi all,
Only my second time posting here but now I am getting into the flylady side of things I thought I would try to join in with this too. Starting to feel a lot more motivated and the house is looking better too - double result! :T
wannabe sybil, I felt like that at first with the flylady thread but when I went onto the website I found it very helpful, and worth a look if you have a spare 5 minutes. The website goes on about their email list but I just use the first page of the flylady thread on here for my inspiration and find that works fine for me. I don't always read through the discussion on the thread as it is so long but I find myself looking forward to the next day's activities being added (onto the first post) each morning (sad I know!!) The website is here: https://www.flylady.com
I think a few of you are aware of the irritating lodger scenario from other posts I have made, well he is due to go to the bank today or tomorrow to see if his cheque has cleared and if it has he will have paid his last ever rent payment (yay!) DF says when that is cleared he will order my birth pool, which is a bit scary as it shows how close we are getting now.
Anyway finished my coffee now so I must go and put the washing on the airer
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -
Kaat Lady, you seem to have had such a day! I hope you can manage a nice calm evening. I hate it when a lovely meal is missed - do you have plan B?
My little bear is having a really good grumble. First of all some strange men came and disturbed his nap this morning which was NOT FAIR. Then just as he was dropping off this afternoon they came back! I got my missing mattress. I have to say that they were very good. This morning when I pointed out that there was one less mattress than I had expected they did not grumble or complain, they just said that they would sort it out - and they did! It's like going to a garage where they don't overcharge!
My evil cat is sulking because her nap this morning was disturbed, there is dust everywhere (I am so ashamed of how dusty it was under the bed) and all her favourite nap places have been disturbed. Tuna is not good enough. This level of annoyance demands salmon... She is trying to sit on the keyboard as I type.
Any minute now I will have to leap in to action as my darling husband really REALLY wants shepherd's pie. But I haven't enough potatoes, so I'll have to sneak in some Smash and hope he doesn't notice. I can add some boiling milk as well. I have one hour and fifteen minutes before he gets home and I am still not sure about this shepherd's pie. I suggested salad, but he was unimpressed.
Foreversomeday - I think it may be an idea to have a peek. Now that the antidepressants are starting to really work I can perhaps take a more methodical approach. The people on here are really friendly.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Hi all
I have been MIA for about a week so don't really know what has been happening with you all. Hugs and thoughts to those having a hard time. Congratulations to those who have celebrated or about to.
Spent today uptown Edinburgh seeing Solicitor etc regarding deeds, will etc. All should be sorted soon. Then spent some time on Princes Street doing some shopping. Hopped on a bus (£2.50 day ticket) with DH up to the Royal Mile and watched some street theatre as now start of the Fringe. Lunch in Howies, bus to where we parked the car, home via Asda, Somerfield and Lidl!
A great but tiring day out.
Off on our travels on Wednesday. Visiting friends then 10 days or so in Ireland visiting DS and then going over to the West Coast. Galway region. Staying at the Bridges of Ross for a couple of nights. Looking forward to it but bought walking shoes etc today in case we get rain. Looking forward too to seeing DS and his partner.
Sorry I haven't been more in touch with you all.
Love and hugs to all.

Catowen It`s not right to put that sort of pressure on young ones.He is the one who will regret it in the end, as your DD will never want to spend any time with him. No wonder you are  he`s undone everything you have managed to get through with her.

KAAT_LADY we had a neighbour who told us the same once, our shed has a concrete base so there is no way, he would`nt have it though. a few weeks later the rat was found dead under his decking, it had been living under there for ages, served him right for sweeping crumbs and stuff down the cracks and not getting it up properly
I am really late today had masses to do, shopping for us, MIL and my mum, general tidying and cleaning, some washing, been in the loft trying to find the toy stuffing I put up there last week, OH has been up there....Nuff sed..... also trying to book a holiday, no joy there yet though. Off to DS2 and DIL`s later.
No idea what to do for dinner, think I will resort to the freezer, in fact looking at the time I better go do it

Hiya again
Update on the remote! - its not been sunny here and I don't have an airing cupboard so before trying the covering it in rice I blasted it with my hair drier, changed the batteries and it works :j
I had some good news, agency rang with a job for me for wed, thurs and fri, she was going to email me all the details, haven't received any details and errrrrrrrrrrr am unsure which agency it was as I'm registered with 3,
will have to ring them all tomorrow and find out. She rang my mobile and it came up with private number, so I can't even track it that way, that will teach me not to listen properly.:o
OH is not back tonight so am about to do myself a salad, have some quiche left over from yesterday.
Hope everyone has a good evening
xxxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Evening all.....
Have discovered that my lovely  new cubby-hole/office with a grand view of the portacabin also has a door with a window.....through which can be seen my screen......so no more daytime MSE-surfing
However, said cubby-hole is now all shipshape, and despite being right next to Mr T's rather than almost in the town centre, I think I will be OK there!
Have got a ton of ironing to do, am going to visit DS2 Thursday - Saturday, with a bit of Hadrian & Debutantes exhibitions thrown in, so need to sort out my packing....Mamma Mia tomorrow night so can't do it then! Also need to leave the house relatively tidy, as we have friends coming for supper on Saturday - about 30mins after I get back home.
I too was a member of the Wonkers Wives club....apparently my ex's new wife used to worry that I would snap my fingers & he would go back to me.... as if - I divorced him, for heaven's sake!
Hugs to all those in need - see you tomorrow, hopefully!0
