Well spent the day trying to make room for my stupidly large :xmastree:. Not putting it up till next weekend, but still need the room sorted before hand. Now have a pile of stuff in middle of room I need to go through, and an entertainment unit I need to get outside as its just too large for this house, and no one has shown any interest in it on freecycle, and I have advertised it twice.

  • Well been hairdressers today and had last of my dye cut out for the princely sum of £7.00 which too be honest isn't too bad when I see costs of some places. First time I have been hairdressers this year, all other cuts I roughly bludgeoned my mate into doing...lol, but not being a hairdresser, she obviously couldn't give me a proper layered look, but did get rid of lots of inches of dye.
Guess I should try and get some bread made in time for college, or it means being naughty and getting take out again.

Been to college then come straight back home via docs. In the half hour it took for me to walk to college, I have complete and utterly flared with with big white spots. Their hot and itch. One of my class mates gave me a lift to Dr's, but cause I didn't know I was going to suddenly come out in a might rash, I have to wait on a call back from either nurse or Dr, when that will be I don't know. All I know is I dont want to go back outside looking like this. Feels liek they are starting on my head aswell now. Highly likely to finally have a few no spends days, cause i wont leave house to spend.

  • Now on antihistamines for this sudden spot/welt/rash attack. Not sure how to describe it. Not going into college today as this attack just drained me yesterday . So whilst I have day off college, think I will try and get caught up on some of flylady cleaning (don't normally do catch up till Thursday). Also glad I decided to take day off as my throws have arrived, so with luck can start by having heating off an extra half hour till I get down to around £20 a week instead of the £27 from this week.

  • Been feeling really down lately. Day I came back from college I had actually felt like just packing it in, Daft as I enjoy the course on the whole, its just the negative vibes I feel from the 'cliché!' group. Feel like a wrath, just floating through life, never being part of it. Its not the lack of money that's doing my head in, but the fact I feel so very lonely, and shut off within myself. If I was a natural loner, I guess my life would be perfect, but I'm not, what I am is just someone who is nervous and shy and finds it hard to interact with others at times. What life i have is lived on-line. Think I am spending money at the moment to try and fill the emptiness within myself. Most days I feel like I am just invisible and that people only remember I am there when they need something from me. Before people say it sounds like I'm depressed and should go to the Doctors, I know when I am depressed, and no amount of tablets are going to rectify the fact that I am extremely lonely.

((((Hugs)))) Penny. I really recognise myself too in what you wrote... Something that has been helping me is Mindfulness. Its a bit of an odd mix of meditation and awareness. Just being able to sit for a while, paying attention to your breathing or sounds or whatever and not really think of anything much, being able to acknowledge thoughts and worries but letting them go has really helped me! I felt as if I was just existing and getting through the day without noticing what was going on around me and really disconected from everything. This has really helped - I feel more "alive" than I have in years. It sounds really odd doesn't it? Its not as out-there as it sounds! I even attended a course run by the NHS! :o A book I have is

The Mindful Way Through Depression: Freeing Yourself from Chronic Unhappiness: Guided Meditation Practices for the Mindful Way Through Depression by by J. Mark G. Williams, John D. Teasdale, Zindel V. Segal, Jon Kabat-Zinn.

I do some form of meditation (either from CDs that come with this book or one of the CDs from my course) pretty much every day.

I would also recommend going to see your GP too - there may be things other than pills that they may be able to help you with.

Are there any hobby type courses, sport or interest groups you could do to meet new people and hopefully not feel so lonely. I'm not sure of your situation exactly but I know many may be avalable for very little (£6 a term here for Local council run courses) if you are on benefits or low income. Volunteering may be another thing possibly. I guess this all depends on childcare and your college timings I guess...

    :grouphug: hugs again... xx

  • My sign language course I carried on so as to meet new people, but everyone seemed to have signed up in pairs to start with and we are an odd number group. Was doing Salsa at one bit, but dance partner pulled out,and it was costing me £10.30 a shot when I included the bus fare for myself and 3 kids so I could get there (and drop kids off at my mum's) As well as the 3-4hrs taken up for a 1 hr lesson.

  • Just been Boots and spent £24 more than I had planned, on the good side, apparently you can only have a certain amount of items per transaction. So I had to pay in two transactions, anyhow, the woman thought she had forgot to scan my 450pts coupon for if i spent over £45, so she manually in-putted it on my second transaction of three items that came to just under £5. Just got home and checked recipets and she had scanned it with first transaction that came to £65.50. So something good came out of it, an extra 450pts to my card. Ended up going so much over as they didn't ahve the mini's in I wanted for boys stockings, so had to buy te full sized products and some mini containers to transfer them into, as its for thier stocking fillers fcuk toilettries (£21.40 spent for £29.03) but if they had had the mini's in would have cost me £10.50, on top of the toilettries cost their was the mini containers (£10.21 just noticed she didn't scan one of them or it would have been £11.82) in total £40.85 worth of good for £31.61 as a substitute for something that should only have been £10.50. The equivant amount if all bought in mini's would be around £50.

  • Spend spend and spend again. Called in Whoolies to see if i could pick some trousers up for the boys to go with their waistcoats I had made. Anyhow they didn't have any suitable ones, but they had school ones reduced from £4 to £2, so picked up four. got to the cashier and they went through at £1 each, so four pairs of trousers for £4. Bought some fancy buttons for front of waistcoats. New laces for a pair of eldest DS boots, some Soap and Glory mini's for DD's stocking, a stocking, and four baubles reduced to 2p each at whoolies for youngest to make stuff with. Also some felt offcuts for YDS's stocking and 24 free range eggs for £3.20 so I can start on major baking spree.
