Hi
I returned the clothes. They said they'd take them back but i'd have to get something else i couldn't have a refund. Which is fair enough. The only trouble was they didn't have the same things and i had to spend £30. Not normally a problem for me but there wsn't much i liked. I ended up getting a couple of tops for me, a pair of pjs for Ds2 and a pair of jeans for Ds1.
I couldnt get any school trousers for Ds1 though. He's got a bit of a tummy and none would go round him without being way too long in the leg. I'm going to have to try BHS cause im sure they do ones with a more generous waist.0 -

Evening everyone.
Have not been long up as I was night shift last night. So it takes me a little while to get pulled round.
Quite a storm last night and lots of thunder and lightening.
Will get some flying done and later postmy list.
Welcome to JackieLeslie, RebekahR, pen_and _paper and any others Ive forgot.
RMC Good to hear you got your pay.
Soappie Hope you managed to get all your work done.
Valli I agree with what you say about your son. Ive worked since I was 15 years old. My GSs however are only realising now that they cant have things given on a plate and that they must work for them.
Tootti Sounds like you are realising now how draining you friend is. I know you said you have agreed to do some things for her. You mentioned she gets on the phone to you when she wants things done. 1 How about a phone with caller display then if you feel you cant cope with her just let it go to answer machine. 2 Hope you dont think Im being cheeky but be a wee bit assertive. Saying no I cant do that today as Im busy and if you want suggest another time or say you have things to do yourself. I felt hurt and annoyed for you when you mention she will not have time for you when her hubby comes back. Though there again you will be able to do your own things. Oh and well done with all your flying this week.
Right Im off for a cuppa and then some flying.0 -
*shuffles in very very quietly as I have been totally bone idle this afternoon*
:hello: Hello to everyone and any newbies. I'm glad you all stopped chatting cos I finally managed to get up to date with the thread.
That's work finished for me for the next 11 whole days. Can you believe it? I can have a lay in in the morning at last. So looking forward to just chilling and pottering around next week. Supposed to be doing DS bedroom at some point as well.
Michelle - don't get yourself in a tizzy over your holiday. As you say there are shops in Devon should you forget something. I think sometimes knowing your going away and thinking that this has to be done that has to be done just makes it all the more stressful.
3 years ago we walked into a travel agent, booked a holiday and flew about 18 hours later:eek: with a 2 yo and an 11 yo. I literally just threw stuff into 2 suitcases, whizzed out and bought bits for the kids to eat and do on the plane and some sunscreen. I had no time to get stressed. In fact it was all very exciting because it was such a spur of the moment thing. I did however forget Calpol and spare dummies but we got that in Cyprus anyway. In fact DD was very proud of her 'Cyprus' dummies.
Right I suppose I'd better show a bit of willing a tidy up of sorts. Will definatley be on the ball tomorrow though. Famous last words yet again no doubt.
Be back later.0 -

I cant seem to score through the jobs I have done. Ive tried the strike button, but, it didnt strike through, it just said strike on my post!!! What
am I doing wrong?
JackieW, it'll say 'strike' in little square brackets in the bit you write you post in but once you submit the post it should magically turn it into a struck through lineI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Evening ladies
Hello new people
I'm envious of those of you who had thunderstorms last night - we didn't which meant it's been quite humid all day. But, the sun is out now, the wind has picked up a little so I have some washing out on the line.
So far I've had no phone calls or emails asking for advise so I think 'Marjorie Proops' has been miraculously removed from my aura.
I managed to crack on with work mostly. Trouble is, I found a problem which meant I had to spend time showing the problem to people. But, all being well, I should be able to finish off this phase tomorrow so I can have my days off - fingers crossed! I have stacks to do and three days off would let me do it leisurely.
Right off to unload the dishwasher, reload it and sort out something for tea. Bangers and mash I think - DS has a friend round tonight so he'll want feeding as well. Ah me!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

I've been flying today but not at my house - my dear old ma had an operation a couple of weeks ago and had some complications. She's fine now but still tired after being under anasthetic(?) for 3+ hours. Is that normal? I suppose at 74 its just going to take time?
So had to scrub mum's kitchen floor and it's around 20 feet long! My DB lives with her but he's a bloke and doesn't see dirt. Are they all the same?
Thanks for all the welcomes.
