Too thick for HW :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm applying to Queen Margaret to do Consumer Studies. I spoke to the course co-ordinator today and they will take me in at 3rd year. So I only need to do a year and thats me got my degree. Even better, I should be able to work around the course, as the taught time is approx 12 hours a week. Obviously, studying time on top of that. But hey, I'm a flylady, I can organise my time :D

  • I feel like I'm finally making progress with this cleaning lark, I have decided each day now I'm going to look on the OS board for quick and easy lunch ideas rather than snacking on crisps and biscuits all day with the occasional soup, noodles or sandwich. Today I had bacon and tinned tomatoes on toast which was lovely. Also, DF came home early for an hour or so and although he had to go back into work it was nice to see him.

That's a great idea, whats the OS BOARD?

Monday Melee - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    [STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
    Clear 1 window sill[/STRIKE]

    Level Two
    [STRIKE]Sweep [/STRIKE]and mop floors
    Scrub out the sticky fridge!
Wipe dining table.. (clean table cloth if necessary)
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
[STRIKE]Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE][STRIKE]Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances [/STRIKE].. don't forget those kick boards..

Clean out your mankiest kitchen cupboard..
    Extra Mission : help yourself

    1. [STRIKE]Clean the hob [/STRIKE]
    2. [STRIKE]Wipe down any tiles[/STRIKE] and shine those taps.. a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
    3. 32 fling boogie..
    4. [STRIKE]Phone someone you love just to tell them so![/STRIKE]
    5. [STRIKE]Empty the bin[/STRIKE].. wash it out.. and make it smell SWEET
Housework only gets noticed when it's not done.
My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them.
Can never keep up with the thread - otherwise I'll never get anything done! But hugs to All :grouphug:

    Good evening ladies

HaPpY Birthday SSL have a fun night and what a day to make a decision about uni.

I've done well with my flying today, just a short list left

    Hoover and mop kitchen floor
    Clean kitchen sink
    Pack toiletries
clean out paddling pool (with DS2)
Nit comb kids - just to be on the safe side
    help DS3 with mask

I need to digest my dinner first and clear up - kids have done the table and put most of the bits in the DW just need to sort the bones for stock and hand wash a couple of non DW pots.

Piggers has her interview tomorrow morning.. the good news.. hubby is away so I can't go! So it isn't that I changed my mind it is more that I simply cnnot get to the blooming college.. last time DS1 was supposed to be having these and went out so I had to cancel about an hour before I was supposed to be there.

thanks, valli, i used flour as i always do and it worked a treat - no more whisking in a saucepan for me!!

Thanks for that Rach I have always had great success with this and haven't made a roux for years - I have a super fish pie method which involves the microwave - poach fish very carefully - it doesn't take long at all in MW in a casserole dish with milk, bay leaves peppercorns allow to cool strain milk and use for a white sauce. (test for flavour) Flake fish, stir into the casserole dish - I add sweetcorn (tinned or frozen), frozen peas and frozen prawns. Stir, top with mash. Bake in oven GM 5 till pots brown a bit. Sometime I thaw out the cooked prawn but it doesn't take long. Less messy. Keeps cat away from fish!

I also make custard in microwave (from powder- and use it when melting jelly cubes -MUCH quicker

Could be a thread topic that - what do you use MW for? Bet someone's been there though!;)
