but i keep trying
i'd say really it is easy to think we are all sat in immaculate houses but we aren't.
1) ds1 is fairly good, and mostly watches telly/plays with toys alone, and i watch him and play with him for some of the time ds2 sleeps to keep him that way.
2) i get ds1 to help - he loads the wm, picks up toys while i hoover, passes me pegs or clothes when hanging out washing, puts things in bin if i ask him, stirs things in the kitchen with my help, pick post up in porch, feeds the cats crunchies, turns the WM on, puts his and babys clothes in laundry basket for me. he loves making a mess and then singing the 'clean up' song from barney
3) if i want to do something ds1 can't help with then he is happy to play with a wind chime hung at his height, the plastic recycling, a pan and spoon
4) i try and read with him while breastfeeding so again he feels like he has quality time
5) if they are both happy, then i start a job, and do what i can the best i can - if i try and wait for time to do it perfect it won't get done
6) i praise myself for everything i do get done - i always think it isn't enough but i know i am a perfectionist.
7) ds1 still goes to nursery on a tuesday 8am-5, so i try to get some things done then, and also naps 2-3 hours most afternoons, and in bed by 7:30 at latest
8) i always try to multi-task , eg cook 2 meals at once, do something in kitchen while kettle boils
9) i always get dressed when i get up before dh goes to work. it causes least mess and stress
rome wasn't built in a day, and i have been doing flying since 2006 before both boys were born, so it probably seems a lot more natural to me. my routines are in place, and if i am having an off day something still gets done - remember our boys are only small, and the most important thing is time with them, a bit of dust or clutter will not matter one bit to them, but a grumpy unhappy tired no fun mummy will.
food/clothes/entertainment come first, and the rest gets done when i can
tip for cleaning oven when it is still warm, i put some white vinegar on a washing up sponge and the gunk comes off with fairly minimal scrubbing. not perfect, but better than lots of strong chemicals when my boys are around
Thank you so much for letting m in to your world I probably already do some of the stuff already like doing other things while kettle boils (and the forgetting that I needed a cup of tea!), DS1 does do littlethings when asked, but hates tidying up his toys - I will try the barney song - When an what channel does it come on? I will also try getting up when DH has come out of showerat 7am to get showered and dressed myself.
learn to praise myself and don't be critical of what i haven't done.
Right plan for today
Get self showered and dressed
[STRIKE]Get kids dressed and fed
[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Breakfast[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Swish/Swipe and make beds
Floordrobe - has to be done on a daily basis, mostly needs to be picked up and taken to the laundry basket!
[/STRIKE] DS1 helped with his clothes.
Right into the shower then off to tescos, must add vinegar to my list. Thanks for the tip michelle.

Well, I've made a good start with the HHC! I've got a living room floor again - and the carpet is blue!! Woo hoo!
DS11 finally came through in the middle of it so HHC was interrupted by the serving of breakfast!
Off to carry on the good work!0 -
I'm sure someone mentioned HHC 10.45 - 11.15 for which I'm in, having spent the last half hour catching up with the thread!

Well I managed to bring in the 2 loads of washing on the line as it's started drizzling here. You know that really fine kind that gets you wet quick.
Finished off cleaning out my mankiest cupboard. Filled up the little white vinegar bottle. Finished off cleaning the cupboard door fronts and kickboards. S&S the d/s toilet.
And finally made a cuppa.
Off to edit my list.0 -
Well done for all of the achievements in the first HHC.

List looks much better now! Actually cleaned out 2 manky cupboards, its amazing how much wasted space there was. Got loads of stuff put away and still have an empty shelf:DThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
How do you use the 'strike' button? I've tried and it didn't work.:(0
