It was at least a year or much more ago. When Bt started doing the free Privacy option. It was in the small print somewhere.
  • I've been making just ONE call a quarter to get the free BT privacy. The increase to SIX must be fairly recent....

    Mmmm, don't think so.

No it is not, as already said well over a year ago.
  • Very strange! I just checked my most recent bill, to 31st July 2008 - one call made at 9 pence and no charge for BT Privacy or 1571....

Maybe I've been lucky and the billing system has cocked up!

Calls made in the last few weeks using the 1280 prefix have not appeared on my BT bill or my BT.com recent calls list.
I've checked mine now, and all my calls via 1280 are listed fine on BT.com recent calls list.

If you use a CPS (such as Primus, as in Heinz's programme), and you want to revert to BT, 1280 is the code you enter before entering the rest of the telephone number.

If you are CPS then like you dial 18185 XXXXXXXXX

To use BT you would dial 1280 XXXXXXXX same as you do with 18185.
