Re: my personal DAB quest.

My dad has just got me one from Aldi in Burton. I haven't actually got it yet, but he's tried it out at his house and said it tuned okay and was very clear reception - think he might get one for himself.

Anyway, its stereo and battery or mains with about 20 presets or something, with a 3 year guarantee, which is comforting as some of the cheaper models can fry themselves, I've heard. At £35, it should do until I can afford a wifi radio :j Just remains to be seen whether DAB works in the Pennines...

They are in store this week, and have been in since Sunday, so if anyone is interested you may need to get down sharpish.

As some of you have said that the quality of sound is not great from DAB radios, but Freeview radio is good, how does a HiFi with Dab radio compare?

Argos have a lot of DAB radios from £19.99 including the Sony XDRS50 for £24.99 in white

Pete have you seen the add on to the ipod from Roberts the Robi that might work in the car?

Also we have now got four DAB radios in our house, two which we originally got from a Argos season change glitch through MSE a couple of years ago and a ONE and a Siesta.

The cheaper Pure radios have all the features but don't have the same quality feel (if this is important) and the sound is good on the cheaper Pures but not nearly as good as the wooden framed babies (Tempest, Evoke etc)!
