Electrical product prices change quickly so I'm starting a new DAB Radio Hunt. I want to tap MoneySavers wealth of knowledge to hunt out the cheapest and list them in one place.

The prices have plummetted recently and they're much more available, once a niche toy, now £40 at Sainsbury is commonplace!

  • This may be £5.00 more expensive than the models that DSG (Currys/Dixons) sell, but in my mind, it's worth it from Amazon - £39.99 inclusive of delivery. This model also has a digital alarm clock as well. It's here.... http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000BH02G4/qid=1130500377/sr=1-6/ref=sr_1_3_6/026-5143203-3420421

as I posted on an earlier thread dixons/currys have one in store or online for £35 (saving £15 off the normal price). handy if you need one ASAP!
  • I have a "house model" which has now replaced the T.V. but I would really really like to comfort spend on a hand held jobby like the one that was on sale in Aldi or was it Lidl in August for £49.99. The cheapest that I have seen so far is £69.99, If anyone knows of a more competitively priced product, please make my Christmas and put a post up.

I bought a nice little Bush dab radio which also had FM tuner and alarm clock facility from Makro for £29.99 plus VAT which is £35.24 in total.
I've tried it out and it works very well.
    Hope this helps.
  • 1st time at writing on here so lets get down to buisness:

Having searched everywhere available came across the 'Dual' brand dab/FM stereo radio in Asda today ( Lakeside branch ) Priced at £34.97.

    8 channel preset stations

    clock /sleep timer

    2 x 2.5w RMS output

Easily set up, well worth the money, nice wooden casing, very similar in style to the more expensive brands.

hope this is useful to someone out there.

I bought one of these portables when it was on the "Today only" special price from Scan computers.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/todayonly/

Specifically the "smallest DAB radio in the world" - the Adapt (Perstel) DR-101 Portable DAB Radio

It was discussed here at the time
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=55076

    Cost me £38.72 (inc VAT)

    Currently £45 +vat = £52.88

  • THE BUG DAB appears to be the cheapest from Tesco at £104.99 with triple points and free delivery.
I keep looking out for a better price though...
Isn't it just so cool? :)

I am looking for a 'Boom Box' style DAB Radio with CD Player. In addition it MUST have a clock with alarm.
    Any suggestions gratefully received.
  • Acting on a tip off today, I popped into my local Aldi and discovered that they still had some handheld dabs left at £49.99. Stations that have crap reception on f.m. positively boom through. I am normally a Lidl man and they usually take the weekly specials that they have not sold at the end of the week off the shelf. It's a good job for me that Aldi do not pursue the same policy.
