National Express Promo Codes

Oh right, ok genius, so your saying everytime I go on the national express website and search for a journey, there is only one seat available at normal price, all other seats left on the coach are double the normal price? that's really unlucky for all other people who try and buy a seat on the same journey just after me, because I have got the only seat on the coach which is normal price.
Do you even think before replying???
Yes I did think and I stand by that I've said:A
And I've done an experiment to prove you wrong - it doesn't happen EVERY time
Unless National Express are waging a personal vendetta against you.....0 -

No, it doesn't happen all the time, but it has happened about 50% of the time for many, many years, since I began buying tickets on their website. I know it's got nothing to do with your explanation of what is happening, as for example, I searched for a journey between 2 places today, and was given a list of about 8 coaches running for that day (in about 2 weeks time). Every single coach had the price of about £8 next to it, I closed the web page as I was just browsing prices and so didn't select a specific coach. When I returned about half an hour later to check specific times, all coaches in the list had the price of £16 next to them.
Now are you saying that in that half an hour all seats for £8 on all these coaches we're sold out?? I don't think so, especially as I believe £8 was the normal price for the journey.
In my opinion, this is at least bad practice, and I believe they make a log of the journeys you search for, so then if you search for them again later, they know you may need to buy a ticket and so try to charge you more. I'v also had problems with them quoting me different ticket prices on their website, depending on whether I use a promotional code or not, though this happens less often.
I don't know why your trying to protect National Express, unless you work for them, I'v been buying tickets off their website for years and this has always happened.0 -
How rude.
Dzug is right.
There are only a few tickets on each coach at the cheaper rates.
And believe me, there could be as few as just one ticket at the rock bottom price.
If you all but buy one, it would be annoying if they sold it to someone else while you were fumbling for your credit card, wouldn't it?
I don't think Dzug said everytime.
If fact you didn't say everytime in your first post.
Does it happen everytime?
You tell us.
Because that may be a totally different scenario to the one you originally presented.
Oh... welcome to the forums.
Hi, sorry, I think you misunderstood, I am not talking about special fares that I believe you are talking about, like the funfares from national express, and pretty much all Megabus fares. I'm not sure if you book much from National Express, but when you select a fare it tells you what kind of fare it is, so for example - funfare, promo, standard, etc. I'm talking about this happening on standard fares. I do understand, of course, that there is a limited number of special fares on Nat Express and Megabus, and they can sell out fairly quickly and are limited to a specific number of seats, but this is not the point I am making.
Thanks for the welcome.0 -

The Easter50 promo code is only valid for return travel before July 21 but do you know if this can be booked as an open return and the return leg then booked after July 21 as the site says that open returns are valid for 3 months?0

Easter50 has expired it says on the website.
I'm trying to book from 4th to 6th July travel from Bristol to Exeter.
Anybody know of another promo code?0 -
Easter50 is no longer valid. I just phoned National Express and you need to book travel before 31st May.
I used PRIMA on line and that is still valid but..... My total fare was almost £40 with the 20% discount. I put the same details in without the PRIMA code and the fare was then £20.50!
I booked without the code and got it cheaper.0 -
