Hypno just wnated to say im in same boat, discovered today i have paid 700 quid bank charges this year alone! 3*3o quid a month some months.
Im really trtuing hard not to go over overdraft now and wondering if i will ever see any charges back.
Have you tried claiming charges back? As that could be huge lump sum off your debt! Im considering writing to barclays headoffice and seeing if i get any response as i think court cases are still on hold unfortunatly.
I wanted to open another account for business today but computer said no!
Is well annoying as wanted to keep business money separate. In the man time i have signed up for online banking and set up savinsg account so will have to use current account and transfer over business money.
Will try again in few months time.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

Awe Hypno I know you want it gone, but please do not beat yourself up on £1.40 spent on yourself for the first time in how many days? If it wasn't for ALL yours and OHs hard work it would not have reduced by the massive amount it already has, so £1.40 spent on yourself and the rest put back in the bank is near on a blooming miracle in 99.9% of peoples books.0

You removed £1.40, that's all.
You didn't then let £8.60 slip through your fingers as many of us ( ) would have done. You should be PROUD of yourself.
BTW, I cleaned out a cupboard (bluddy ChoreWars, I have to keep up) and found 10 (TEN  ) bars of chocolate. So I've slipped one in among your toner cartridges. I'M on a diet

How can anyone not know they have TEN, yes TEN bars of chocolate in the cupboard - you are amazing, woman!!!
gailey, my bank charge case went all the way to court.......then 2 weeks before the court date they put all charges on hold!!! So I have not only got £4000 + of charges that almost got repaid last year.....but I have paid the bloomin court fees up front and Barclays still have the ability to charge me whenever!
I will get my revenge one way....or another :cool:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
All I'd say is:
*check the date*
it may be unacceptably old for you :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

Not possible - I am sure no one has died of "out of date chocolate poisoning" yet.....:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Re the bank charges, lets just hope you can continue with the claim then you can call it 'saving up' charges all along..fingers crossed coz that would be a nice chunk off the debt total.

Ahh hypno thats so unlucky. Im bit concerned about everything being on hold. I remeber the guy who took the bank to court to prove apoint but i think ist damaged everyones chances. How long will it be on hold for? As you can only get 6years worth of charges and i think its been on hold for a year.
Barclays are changing tehir charging and putting individula customer reserves in place and only charging £22 quid instead of 30 they so kind!
I will write to them.
My biggest worry was going to claim Lloyds charges back but running out of time.
Seems the courts and governemnt working in banks favour latly, I dont understand if they own nortehrn rock why they cannot offer low interest laons and morgages to people as they given them billions!pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

Like lots of things in my life, I am working on the basis now that if we get anything back it will be a nice bonus, but we will not count on it at all.
I would hope that if the ruling goes against the consumer that at least I would get my court fees back - after all, my particular case never got as far as the hearing!
But.....we wait a bit longer - I think the whole thing could take a lot longer yet so will be nice if and when it ever happens, and write it off other than that! It certainly doesn't appear in any of my debt busting plans!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
