Hypno's recession busting debt diary.....

Week off sounds great. My fortnight is nearing an end and I haven't done half the stuff I had hoped but at least not had to go to work! I'm with you on the holiday planning - we've just done the same - booked a cottage for next June and am putting a little away into an isa so that by the time we get there it is paid for and we can enjoy it. Will be self-catered mainly (though will make sure we can have some meals out and afternoon teas!) and lots of cheap/free stuff (taking dogs so nice walks and stuff) but will be a good rest and a complete change which is the main thing!
Have a good last day at work!0 -
Hypno you can use your Tesco vouchers for meals at Centre Parcs in some of the restaurants I think so maybe that could be an option to keep the food cost down while not having to self cater?0

My DD was one with results and No we have never ever had "well I did this good I want x amount". We've always encouraged both DS & DD to try their hardest, do their best and what will be will be. DD got a Belgian Bun from the Bakers as her reward today :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
i had to bribe mine lol ...i think it was more cause he had moved out of the house and had started the whole ohh i have just got my own place so i can PAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTYYYYYYYYYYY head on ...still didnt get him into uni though ...but it did cost me £100 so more fool me there then0 -
hypno the holiday idea sounds perfect you have to have some fun and the way your debt is coming down is amazing so this time next year will be perfect for the whole family to spend some fun time together...i transfer money every year into hubby's isa we generally use it for camping we try to go as often as possible(not been this year though due to weather and the money needed for the car) it pays for any extras we need i'm used to not having it now but i dont think i will ever get used to not having my camping trips (gonna need to fit one in this year somehow)
just re-read that i didnt mean to insinuate that you dont spend some fun time together just meant it will be nice to get away from it all0 -
That's great news about the holiday and something to look forward to .Really pleased for you..Have a good week off.0

well today is flying by!! Hopefully I will get my desk clear before 5.30 - don't fancy staying too late tonight!
No NSD today - had to buy a couple of birthday cards but still a low spender so not too bad.....could be worse!
Also had to renew my public liability insurance for the therapy stuff - £75 but can't be without it, so I just have to pay the money and get earning it back from clients!!! (but I am not counting that in my daily "spends" because it is a necessary cost not anything that can be avoided!)
KM I was not aware you could use tesco vouchers in center parcs - that would be fantastic if we could.....I will investigate further I think!! If you have any info, please let me know!
best get back to work now! Catch up later!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hypno just check what restaurants they have at the Centre Parcs you are going to then go the the Tesco website and check if the restaurants are valid. For example I know you can you Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge vouchers if they have them restaurants at your Centre Parcs plus there might be more.

Have just fininshed clearing the living room of feathers !!!!!!!!! decided to combine some of our pillows so bought new pillow ticks the other day but as it was a bit windy outside had to cut open the old ones and fill the new ones inside :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Just thought Id share that with you as it does conjure up some laughs !!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Great news about the holiday Hypno - you definitely deserve a bit of a break! We've got 3 booked this year! Sounds extravagant, but they're all Sun hols and cost about £100 in total.
Hypno, sorry to be the bearer of potentially bad news, but don't get too excited about Factfinders! See this post I made back in Jan when I received my pack:

I know I was pregnant and hormonal, but I remember not being any too impressed!
