Hypno's recession busting debt diary.....

Morning all - ches it is not interfering at all. The bank charges bit is a bit of a "black hole" really in the whole process. I budget, do spreadsheets, work out what we have, am the most realistic person in the world.......but still can't seem to get the bank accounts to balance as there is always something - but it is always just day to day living stuff that we SHOULD be able to do without incurring bank charges - we just have to learn.

The overpayments are made from "extra" money we receive from all the MSE stuff, car boots, ebay, matched betting. As such I really want it to be treated as an extra and not relied on for day to day living.

If we relied on the extra in the day to day living we would never really learn how to balance the budgets.

So, although some may not see the logic, I see it! Bank charges are incurred because we fail to make our expenditure fit with our guaranteed income. And that is the lesson that we HAVE to learn in this whole process in order to get debt free and stay debt free. In a way it is the price we have to pay.

disgusting fact for the day... i've just found a mosquito in the bottom of my tea cup.. after drinking the tea!!!!:eek:

anyway, hope you have a lovely day today and continue with chocaholic abstinance! :T (i was really good yesterday, bought a pack of mixed nuts and raisins instead of jaffas was incredibly boring of me really.:rolleyes: )

Hi P, and eww to the mossie :eek: Tis no problem to look over the application. Send it over - I am home this evening so will be able to do so before your deadline.

Am aiming for a NSD today - I almost had one yesterday but ended up spending £3.75 at the end of the day.......the kids reckon we can manage one today so we are going to give it a go!

Forgot to mention on the bank charge missive above...one of the other reasons is that it is the debt reduction that is my motivator rather than the bank balances. I think because the debt is sooo big I get more out of seeing that going down than I do out of the budgets thing (because the budgets thing always goes soooo wrong!).

Your method clearly works for you - even with the bank charges you have paid off £13k this year. Keep going girl!

Thanks Seaxwyn! We are almost half way through the month and still in credit at the bank which is unheard of for us....so maybe we are learning that lesson now!! (about time, perhaps!!)
