Hypno's recession busting debt diary.....

Hi Walshyboy!!! Debtwise 3 years ago we were over £100k on cards and loans on top of the mortgage......... I never ever want to go back there again! I view mortgage debt differently though, and when I buy my dream house I will stretch myself to get a huge mortgage........but I am sure that won't be at 26.9% which is what some of the other debt has been at!
Shop and scan - well as yet I don't know much about it other than we get some sort of handset that plugs into the phone and we scan everything we buy (ooh, we can play "shops"!) and in return we get vouchers.......I don't even know what results you get if you google shop and scan.....or is it "shop'n'scan" ?? Might be worth a search on this forum because I am sure there must be stuff about it somewhere!

Just checking in for a few minutes - been to cousins funeral etc and off to work shortly. Very nicely done considering the circumstances.
Shop and Scan sounds interesting - I hate shopping so does it speed it up???0 -
Sounds like it slows you right down Surfbabe - you have to scan it all when you get home.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Surfbabe, I am glad that things went ok today for you.
You're right Seaxwyn, I am sure.......re slowing things down - you have to scan everything AFTER you bring it home from the supermarket and before it goes in the cupboards/freezers.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. but it will keep the kids quiet for an hour or so ...that must be worth something0

We don't find it takes long at all, it's a quick scan before you put it away. For food shopping especially it's so easy. You plug the lead into your PC (there's two types so you might have to change it before it's right, we did) and let the scanner upload once a week, just plug it in, takes about two minutes. We always do ours on a Sunday so it's not forgotten.
It's invite only though, probably why it isn't mentioned much on here. Although they do ask people to refer occasionally, we've been with them a year and haven't been offered any referrals yet.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Hi Hypno have I missed a post or have you sneakily managed an over payment? Last time i looked you were at £0 of your £86 per day challenge and now you're ahead... Thats great.

Ooh, invite only! That makes us part of a select group then.......I feel all important now
:T
El, it seems that it may keep the kids quiet for 2 mins, rather than an hour, according to Gemmzie.......oh well, 2 mins of less teenage bickering has still got to be worth it!
KM, yes, sneakily managed an overpayment to Egg of £350.......couldn't resist for any longerThat "card" is down to £332 now :j

Re the Shop and Scan stuff (not that I have an invite or anything!) what happens if like us you buy loose veggies and go to a traditional butcher for meat? about the only thing we get with bar codes are tinned toms (rarely!) and bamboo shoots/water chestnuts oh and quorn!
Oh and congratulations on the over payment! how soon before this card is cleared off?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
