The international code for San Francisco Airport is 'SFO'
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

Oh, wish I hadn't asked. Bit crude I must say.

Lets get back to the cars, shall we?

MrsE - can understand why you have problems on here, they don't know how to communicate with ladies.

Grease monkeys someone said. But not sure if that is the right term. Especially after the airport explanation.

    I wouldn't touch a perodua - yucky pacific rim sh1te.

a brand new car will cost a bomb to insure and is not necessarily any more reliable than a used one.

That yucky pacific rim sh1te happens to be built using Daihatsu (owned by Toyota) designs and engines, there latest cars such as the Myvi are the same as the Toyota Boon and Daihatsu Sirion, which are much better cars than most of what Europe has to offer. They also assemble Toyota cars in their factories.

As for new cars being more costly to insure, its not the case. Usually being newer they'll usually be cheaper to repair and therefore cheaper to insure.

if my car was to be replaced i would look at something like a micra (old shape- new one too girly), or a picanto.

i like the aygo but probably too slow for me to be honest
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)

Indeed, I agree, another badge snob slating off vehicles over which they have no real knowledge.

The Perodua Myvi ( A.K.A ) Daihatsu Sirion is the most under rated car out there, all basically Toyota as you say, without the Toyota price tag.

A far better value car than the Toyota Aygo.;)

That may well be - but I prefer to have a car that i can pronounce the name of without too much difficulty.

Besides the Aygo is far too small anyway. I think MrsE and daughter would agree on that. And there is nothing wrong with a good 'label' so to speak, as they hold their price, which is something worth thinking about. One of the reasons why I think Goldspanners is right, forget the ST Focus and go for the ST Fiesta which is more the right size for MrsE's daughter and it will hold its price, as long as they don't have the stripes over the roof.

I do think the "label" matters on the resale, a Peruda is going to be worth peanuts, a Ka not too bad & a Aygo the best of the bunch.
Most people buying a second hand car wouldn't touch a make like Peroda, doesn't matter if they are right or wrong, what matters is, its what the majority think.
When people think small economical second hand car, they think Japanese makes first.
