A&L are really starting to annoy me. I did finally get my £50 for opening an account, after having to chase them, but my referrer has yet to see their money. This is for an account that was opened over 6 months ago.

I have since referred someone else who, after much chasing and lies on the part of A&L, has now received their £50, but as their referrer I have received nothing! When I phoned to chase my payment, I was told that they would need to check that the person I recommended has satisfied all their conditions. Well of course they did, you wouldn't have given them the £50 otherwise.

Their CS is appalling. Every time I call, I have to speak to a different person. They claim to add a note onto my account to say they have discussed the issue with me, but every time, I have to explain the same thing again because they have no record of me calling.

Just thought I would stick up for A+L - they've been brilliant with me, I set up the account just before Christmas, and aftyer Xmas it was all up and running without a single hitch. First lot of wages went in at the end of Jan.
I referred a friend in Jan, and her's was set up just as quickly and efficiently - we both had our £50 credited last week, much more quickly than I was expecting!

I am soooo glad to be rid of HSBC :j

Just opened an account over the Internet.

If someone emails me is it possible for them to refer me so we both still get £50?

EDIT - Have been referred now - thanks for the other offers.

Yes. All you will need to do is complete the refer a friend form (Which you can print off from their site) when you recieve your accout number / details. Your referer fills in part of the form with their details and account number, you fill in your details and send off. After the correct funding has been recieved into the account you get your £50 and the referrer gets there £50. Although looking at some of the responses in this thread it's a bit hit and miss. I have had mine and the money for Mrs Mad etc so have had no problems. I would be happy to be your referrer if you need one I will even share my half. How is that for a deal?
  • I have to say that my own experience with the Alliance & Leicester "Recommend a friend" offer has been faultless. Followed the necessary terms & conditions to the letter & both myself & my Mum received our £50 in 10 days. Bargain
I hope that others have the same experience.
  • If anyone else needs to be recommended, I can do that and give you £45 back of the %50 that I get, that means that you get the £95 and I get £5.
    Thanks.

Travel-freak, if you're out there, please can you empty your mailbox as I have some urgent info for you regarding your A & L referal.
    Cheers

  • I have been trying to get Travel-freak to pay up the referral money we agreed but Travel-freak has had problems from A & L not stating who the money paid is in respect of. Travel-freak has not been on site since 22/2/06. I'm still waiting for my money from last year.

It is not Travel-freak's problem. It is a general problem that I warned many times about ... From my experience even dates of two £50 credits to different accounts related to the same voucher can be slightly different, that often makes difficult/impossible to trace referred 'friend'.
