Already with Eon and about 10pm I managed to get to the change tariff screen. But since then the site seems to have crashed. For my usage the dual fuel rates have to go up @ 23% from my current Eon tariff (which has all sorts of on line/local discounts) before it equals the capped rates. Which with the current rate of increase will be very soon

  • Does anyone know how, not having Transco as a supplier, affects any changes?

Does that mean that you are not going for the capped? Are you likely to remain better off  I am just so confused because I currently pay EDF by DD and my gas is debited at £40pm and my Electricity at £15 - I don't seem to be spending anywhere as much as everyone else and I am just worried that my outgoing is going to seriously spike up :embarasse

Did you miss my post? #30 Didn't cause any problems when we switched, just have to pay an extra tenner per quarter.

    FINALLY!

An hour and a half later, the website has decided to work really quickly  and let me do it again, from scratch, in about 10 minutes.

    Just had the confirmation email.

    :T :T :T
  • Keep on trying. I've just been trying for over an hour and a half and the website kept crashing but have just successfully swapped to the Energy Saver 4 capped until Oct 09 and with a free energy monitor. There is a cancellation charge is you swap before Oct (£35 I think) but don't think its likely that I'll swap and it'll be handy to see how much energy we are using for various appliances!

Try using https://www.energyhelpline.com for eon related capped tariffs, we just have and it went through immediately, good luck! x

I pay £44 a month split 50/50 gas/electric but I've done a lot to reduce my usage (insulation, better curtains bought cheaply in the sales, using the heating less often and at a lower temperature etc. some of which has cost money but will pay back in the long term). The current round of increases is about 20 - 25% so then variable will equal capped for me and if I can I will cap 'cos I don't expect prices to reduce next year.

My Current product with E.on is...
    Electricity
    Normal units
    10.4265 pence per kWh

    Standing Charge
    19.1625 pence per Day

    Gas
    Normal units
    2.9127 pence per kWh

    Standing Charge
    12.1695 pence per Day

So I am paying 32p a day in standing charges

All of the capped options don't have standing charges, the Energy Saver 4 option is this...
    Electricity
Normal units up to 900 kWhs
    20.1075 pence

    Normal units
    11.5185 pence per kWh

    Gas
Normal units up to 2680 kWhs
    5.31405 pence

    Normal units
    3.3873 pence per kWh

Presuming that E.ons prices go up 35% in the next year would I be better off capping to the option above?
