    ally the way i look at it is if you havent spent a single penny then its a nsd,
    so the drive is ok, as its using stuff youve already got.

    Not a chance of a NSD today or tomorrow as have to get shopping and fill car - and am out for the day tomorrow. Best can hope for is a low spend day!

    Next one planned for Sunday - with a bit of luck!

    Ally,

    You should not count the petrol used when you drive somewhere as you'll already have counted it when you bought it, so run the risk of counting it twice. In this economic climate, believe me, you only want to be counting it ONCE!!!:rotfl:

    How you count your spends is up to you but as a rule, I count it only if it involves cash leaving my hand, a cheque leaving my cheque book or a spend on my cards.
    Payment to clear outstanding debts is not counted - this is just borrowings from your future self and so you have already spent that money before - this is just paying yourself back.

    I don't count direct debits either.

    My challenge is creating NSDs by not spending on stuff I don't really want or need.
    What makes it hard is that they tend to be the stuff I like and THINK I want!

    Keep a spending diary - I was appalled when I did. I realised that I was spending £25 / month on bottles of Coke at work which rose to £60 / month when I counted the soft drinks I buy in the pub after bellringing practices!!!

    That's £720 / year = a very good holiday OR 9 YEARS off my mortgage!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
