August -The NSD Challenge

I know I said I was not going to manage an NSD yesterday but I didn't think I was going to spend £46.18
Stil, now I know the freezer is full, there's a chance I can get to the end of August just buying milk, bread and veg.
That's the plan anyway!

(Please say yes..!)
In my opinion:
1. Already budgeted for: NO - it's still spending.
2. Unavoidable (bus pass): OK.
3. Cheapo coffee: NO. Make coffee at home and take it in a thermos, and eat your lunch somewhere else :-)
However, that's just my opinion. The idea of this challenge is to do it whichever way it works for you! Imposing rules on people is against the moneysaving spirit in my opinion. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
Will be my 10th NSD today !!! Hurrah !!!0

Ok, I am on NSD 13. Meeting friends at the park, but will take a flask of coffee so that I don't stop off at the shop.
Should be a NSD weekend fingers crossed. Have nothing planned x0 -
Still here - still not going out and spending. I agree that the Direct Debits have to be left out of this for me, otherwise I'd never get any NSDs!
I work on the "no money leaves my hand or bank account - OTHER THAN DDbts or STOs" - basis.
Isn't it silly how much I feel the NEED to spend money? Just shows how silly I've been.... actually, my bank balance shows how silly I've been *gulp*
Thank you for this challenge, it's really concentrating my mind on my achievements rather than banging my head against how rubbish I've been. A great morale booster. If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0 -

Thanks for this! I agree about the coffee but also agree that if the rules are too strict it's counter-productive.
Thanks to this thread I've now had 9 NSDs this month. :j0 -

Lots of people think that things that are budgeted for in advance don't void your NSD, but I think the answer is to budget differently. But that's easy for me to say because I have no boyfriend and no kids :-)You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! For me a no spend day is exactly what it says, no spend what so ever, but thats just the way i'm doing my challenge and what works for me. Had my second no spend day on Wednesday. Not too bad, however i did plan on having 8 and so far thats not happening!! Oh well, its certainly made me look at my spending though!:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

I don't see the point in including those items that HAVE to be paid.
Eg I have no option to pay my mortgage which goes out on the first of the month. But I feel I can still have an NSD on the 1st by taking care not to spend any extra money that day on non essentials like a latte or a cake from the bakery.
When all my household expenses are paid, I have about £400 left over to fill the car, eat, and everything else. These are the things I can influence - don't drive - walk, don't eat out, eat in, cut down on non essentials.
Including the mortgage / TV Licence / Council Tax would just leave me fed up on the days they are paid as they would ruin an NSD.
It's got to be a challenge, yes, but not an impossibility!
ATEOTD it's what works for you.
