Hi everyone & well done on achievements so far :D

Hmmm, interesting to hear different views on what constitutes spending ; for me I dont count : rent, council tax, utilites, phones or debt repayments. I do however, count food shopping, petrol & parking & any other kind of shopping like the kind I did today :o which was stuff for holiday like padlock, liquids pouch, sandals for DD & medicines etc.

I do actually budget/save for stuff like car repairs, presents, dentist & opticians, DDs clubs & hobbies & have just started a new weekly budget for household expenses like the window cleaner (also paid for today) BUT I think I would still count this as a spend on this thread as it's still money leaving my possesion.

What I am trying to do though is to plan ahead so that I can squeeze as many non spending days as possible into a month.

For that reason alone it's a brilliant thread :D it's so easy to 'pop to the shop for bread' & come out £20 later , I used to do this 3 or 4 times a week but now I try to eke stuff out until the next essential spend day ;) .

Wont have a NSD tomorrow as taking my Grandmother out for tea but hopefully will manage one on sunday.

Im loving finding out different peoples views on what a NSD is

Well for me, If I spend on any of the following, I dont count them in my NSDs

    Mortgage
    Service Charge
    Council Tax
    Utility bills
    Phone/internet bills
    Car/home insurance
    Weekly food Budget

If I buy anything outside this list then my NSD is blown
    hope that helps...

    has anyone finished??

In Jan 2007 I had a debt of £27,896.00

I've had my nieces and nephew over to stay the last few days plus one of the kids closest friends so I've had 6 kids to entertain today (and last 2 days) with all 6 kids today was a no spend day,
I raided the freezer for chicken wings and drumsticks(all bought reduced price!) used left over homemade pizza sauce as a dip took some tesco value tortillas and chopped carrot sticks. kids made their own buns, bread etc.. and we walked 10 mins down the road to an area where there are trees and a very shallow stream they climbed and played for 2 hours and had a very cheep picnic must have only cost £2 if that when ingredients were bought originally. and i managed a couple of chapters of a book i've been meaning to read all week it was bliss!!!
To top it all off we came home with 3 food containers of blackberries and made a crumble for after a toad in the hole and veg tea.

This is what I think AngelDiva, I allow for my weekly shop & one fill up of petrol per week, but if I have to get extra fuel or extra shopping then I do count them.

There is no way to avoid having to buy my weekly shop & weekly fuel so I don't think its fair to count them. :D

    I am on NSD14 today :T

Tomorrow should also be a NSD too, but its easier for me as I don't have any bloomin money anyway :o

I really look forward to a few weeks time, maybe mid September, cause I am sure my bank account will start looking alot healthier after maybe a month or so of me sticking to alot of NSD's. I can't wait.

I use Microsoft money and I does a forecast that shows how your bank account will look over the coming months, and without all the incidental spending, it shows I will have thousands in the bank in one years time. If I could just be out of my overdraft I would be happy xxx

Hi guys, it's good to know what everyone counts for NSDs. It seems I've been way stricter than most - I was even counting DDs as spending! Hope you're all doing well - I've been clothes shopping for my holiday, so no more NDSs yet, but at least I've bought good quality stuff that should last me a while ;)
