Don't worry about any slip ups!! I am in this for the long haul and need to be realistic about the way I have eaten for soooo long. It takes a long time to break bad habits and that's how I see things. I didn't get my size overnight so I can't expect to lose it that way either. I'll be pleased if I can be £77 better off next summer. I need a complete lifestyle overhaul and that will take time.

I have decided not to do any particular type of diet because in the past I've done that but once I've stopped it piled back on and then some! So I'm looking at eating sensibly and having the odd treat so I don't go stir crazy wanting things I shouldn't have.

I'm looking forward to this as it's been a long time coming.

I'm off on hols on Sunday and I'm really excited about it (well obviously) but not just because it's my hols but I can really see it as a kick start to new things. I'll be swimming everyday (something I can't do at the moment) and eating a really healthy diet and drinking loads of water. We are half board and the buffet style menu means I can easily pick the lovely Med food (loads of fresh fruit, veg and fish). We have been to this place before and it has a great air-con gym so I might even give that a go.
I'll still have what I want but just smaller amounts, maybe a few more mineral waters after the sangria!!
Last year I lost 2lb there and certainly wasn't trying - I was well piggy, so I have a good feeling I could stay on track while away.

take care everyone, don't get too stressed it'll happen:T :T

I'm doing Slimming World, and when I want chocolate, I have a Toffee (or is it fudge?) Muller light yogurt - it satisfies the craving and is totally FREE!! :T

Aren't mullier lights fabulous! I had a Strawberry one last night andcut up strawberries and put in with it. Really satisfies my sweet tooth for sure!

Whilst we are all at the confessional I better join in also!! I have had 350ml of milk in my weetabix instead of 300 ... I'm sorry lol but I just can't stand dry weetabix it needs to drowned for to eat it! lol

Your way of thinking is very true, didnt happen overnight.

and yes for me too it is going to have to be a complete re-think in my whole attitude towards food.

Can I ask what you all think of cereal bars??

We eat tons of them in my house, sometimes for brekkie, sometimes as a snack and sometimes instead of chocolate.
Thought it was better than snacking on chocolates or sweets, but I was talking t a friend and she said they are just as bad as full up with sugar??

So far today am just on coffe, but will have sometjing soon.

  • Hi

    Just updated my signature!

I was wondering why I wasnt getting anywhere then out of the blue Mother Nature (AKA totm) called and told me why I had put on weight! ;):o

Is anyone else doing Rosemary Conly healthy weightloss for life plans?

Just remember the equasion = More out than in.

Therefore more exercise to compensate for the more you eat! Thats a good demotivator to scoff that extra bit. Considering it takes half an hour of brisk walking to lose 100 Calories just think how far you would have to march for that extra slice of bread, cheese etc

Another tip is not to use butter / spread unless you have a dry filling and even then you can avoid it. Use the 'sauce' as the spread eg cheese and pickle sandwich spread the pickle on the bread and dont forget the lettuce, cucumber and tomatoe (top up your 5 a day) you can add it to the side of the plate if you dont want to ruin the taste of the sarnie, just make sure you eat it!

*Waiste not taste as I say ;) (*and no that's not a spelling mistake :rotfl: )

I thin most of them do carry a lot of sugar, I love them too.
Im sure I saw a recipe on old style for cereal bars, im going to try to find it.
I have tried to make my own using, rice chrispies, 70% cocoa chocolate and some dried fruit. They were Ok, I suppose they would be easy to make and then you could limit the amount of sugar you add.
