i made the same mistake thinking like you .. waitinf=g for a year for the 3G to drop in price. Sick of waiting now and will get the 3GS in the next few days.

The iphone 3G 8Gb is not the latest iphone.

The latest iphones are the 3GS 16Gb or 32Gb.

The iphone 3G 8Gb is the previous version and costs £342.50 (not £440 as previously mentioned) on PAYG.

    .

I think that was meant as a reply for me? In which case I DID actually mean the Iphone 3GS costs £440. THe guy asked for the 'latest iphone' which i replied it costs £440 on PAYG ...

Almost impossible to predict. But Apple don't tend to reduce prices unless there's an ABSOLUTE OUTRAGE, like in the USA when the first iPhone came out there at.... about the price this one is available over here :p In the unlikely event that happens, you might get an Apple voucher for about 50% of what you lost. It's unlikely.

In the case of the original iPhone the public outrage was also made known by slow sales. If sales were much lower than Apple's exptectations then they would have had a good reason to drop the price.

This time the sales have been good, despite O2's near-gouging price levels (IMHO there's nearly a hint of monopoly abuse/rent-seeking but I have no evidence). I doubt the iPhone 3GS prices are going to fall at all.

    Hi,

I'm looking at upgrading my O2 contract now.

If I go for an upgrade as follow without taking a new phone (with cash back redemption of £540):
£35 tariff 18 months (600 mins, 1000 texts, and Unlimited Web Browsing bolt on)..

..can I buy a new iphone 3GS and use the sim card with it, and get unlimited internet?

How can I know if my old SIM will be Iphone/3G compatible?
