I signed for Prime when the free shipping was £15.00, missed cancelling but have no regrets.
The knowledge of when goods will arrive (City Link 12 noon) saves wasting time staying in. Now order for the whole family as we are retired and able
to receive any parcels Post or Carrier, and you seem to get preferential
treatment, our delivery promise of pre release game was date of release
10 days before my daughters, non Prime.
Well worth the money0 -
I signed up to Prime over the chirstmas period and for the first time ever i had everyone's presents bought and wrapped by the 12th December, no last minute christmas eve shopping for me. :money:
I clicked on the "do not renew" button and i've had no problems/nasty e-mails from amazon, i can only praise them. Fingers crossed i'm eligible for another trial this christmas.0 -
It's not letting me sign up for free trial. Just £48 paid up front0

Oh no wait, it's working now
and it let me upgrade stuff I had already ordered last week, that hadn't been dispatched yet, to 1 day delivery, so now it's coming tomorrow, yay!

I tried this trial last time around, and kind of accidently forgot to cancel. However I was interested and tempted to carry on with the subscription anyway. I am glad I have done it because it is a great service and you can easily gain the charge back by ordering about 10 items or so. It all depends on whether you ever need things quickly, and also whether you use Amazon a lot or not.
It's great not having to worry about delvieries taking ages, or having to make the total order up to £15 for free super saver.0 -

I doubt it. They aren't that generous! I would advise in doing Amazon Prime anyway. Like you suggested with Christmas and birthdays - its ideal!0 -
Am I the only one who's had a poor experience of Amazon Prime? I'm glad the month's trial was free because none of my orders arrived next day or even the day after that.Debt Free since Feb 2007 :T0

Amazon does free delivery on anything over £4.99 now.
There aren't many items under that price, so Amazon Prime means all you are paying for is a faster service. One day instead of 2 or 3 days.
I use Amazon a lot, and I can wait a couple of days extra for my stuff, so Prime is no godd to me.
The free month offer is tempting, though.0 -
No its not worth £50, but its worth £10 if you split it between friends0

Not sure why allybee your orders weren't getting there next day. I think I had one last year that didn't come next day. It can slightly depend on when you order it the day before. Also if you live out in the sticks then I guess that may affect it?
deanos, it's a matter of opinion on whether the £50 is worth it. If you say order 20 things off the site in a year, then it's definitely worth it. I can definitely see though if a person doesn't order much from Amazon then it's not worth it. It's great to have the next day delivery to fall back on if you have forgotten presents for someone.0
