  • Hello, I'm new! I just signed up and my 6 parties are booked - it was a struggle and I felt like I was mithering my friends a bit. Some of them are blatantly ignoring me now! But I managed to get 6 by hosting one of my own.

My AM has all my details and I go to training on Sunday and should get my kit next week. My first party is on the 9th and I am really scared!!

I am a bit worried as I am only going to 1 training session and earlier in the thread I read that there is actually 2.

My AM told me that I am the only Consultant in the Scarborough area so I am quite excited about how I can develop this. But I am also quite shy and not naturally a sales person so I hope I manage to maintain regular party bookings. I have only lived here for a year too, so my circle of friends is not very wide but I am sure that I will get to meet loads of lovely new people.

I was wondering what you all do to get the party started - do you have an ice breaker of some sort or do you play a game?

I am so glad that I found this thread!!

Hia, I'm new too. I have my first and only training day a week tomorrow! My first party is on the 11th. I have 4 so far and only until tuesday to get all 6 confirmed and all info collected. Really hoping I can manage it, may call in a few favours!
I accosted a neighbour on her way to school and she's taken my cat. with her to get the mums interested in going to a party if she has one. Maybe they'll even have one of their own. Shame my kids aren't school age yet, I'd have more opportunities to get people interested but if nothing else I have now made friends with 2 of my neighbours (her and the Avon Lady!!!) so if I don't carry on after xmas I will at least have got something other than my kit out of it!
Hope 1 day's training is enough, at least there will be quite a few of us - they had to set up one specially as they were going to send us all to Chichester but there are too many of us Newbies now.

  • Hello

All six booked just waiting for my training and kit now. First session Tuesday and kit should arrive after that.

I hope fundraisers do ok because I am doing two and thinking of making my party one for Macmillan. Its not just for me but by giving 10% I want the charites to do well It would need £500 to get just £50. I will offer some bits for a raffle to help as well.

Its great to hear from the other newbies on here and the experience of others.

  • My order arrived today and i got myself some xmas stuff. OMG the cranberry shimmer puff thingy (lol) is lush! Got the xmas PWP too, not mad keen on it as already got something similar but have to have to show. I've took all my Aug PWP stuff out now that promo has finished and just gonna use them as little incentives for parties as not been used.

My AM sent me that £2 grid thingy, good way to get the sales up as the one she sent allows the hostess to get £50 worth of shopping and the winner the same (if all squares are sold obviously) so good way to boost sales!

  • Hi there just spent the last hour or so reading through all your hints and tips so thought it only fair to say thanks and hello.

I have just spoke to someone this evening and they are coming out to see me on Monday to get me signed up.

Just wondered what everyones opinions were on the xmas kit is it worth getting or just going for the standard kit?

I saw a few people had mentioned Public Liability insurance did anyone actually get to the bottom of that one?

What sort of reception have people had when going into their local store looking for bookings?

Thanks again and I hope to be joining you all soon.

I went for the xmas bolt on with my starter kit but it means I have to get my 6 parties by Tuesday. I definitely think it's worth it though for the xmas make-up as people are A Lot more likely to buy things they've seen. Plus they may want you to do xmas make-up for a make-over party.
BodyShop redcar, where abouts in the coutry are you?
I don't know how much it costs you to get though if you don't get the offer.
