  • What about making up some little forms for people to put their contact details on. Get them to fill in the form and put it in a collection for a free prize draw. You could give away some small and cheap-ish item(s) and that gives you the opportunity to speak to the person for longer and maybe talk them into a party then.

I filled out a form like this years ago and subsequently got a phonecall telling me I'd 'won' a free facial or something, but it was basically a way for the sales person to get a foot in the door.
  • Thanks! Well I've decided not to do it, I agree £20 seems a bit steep, when I did a fundraiser the table was only a fiver, and this one isn't money for charity or anything. Plus the manager said there's loads of stalls going so a) we'd be pretty packed in and b) like someone said it'd be difficult getting ppls attention for long at my stall...especially cause the leisure club has a beauty salon inside it so I wouldn't be allowed to do facials, manicures/hand treatments as it would be detracting from their business!! Anyway sounds like most the stalls they had going were craft/cards/gifts, all christmasy stuff so yeah probably stuff that ppl could buy there and then and not have to order, which I don't have any of.

Anyway my manager has asked me to do a party tonight for a consultant who can't make it so that swung it for me, hopefully I'll make some money there instead! It'll be my first one with all strangers!

Quick question - Can I ask how the commission works? I have now put thru 2 parties and haven't had any commission yet. Any reason for this or could it just be an admin error??
    :j
  • Can anybody give me some pointers on the structure of the parties they do?
I was really confident for my first couple of parties but the last one I did I did not feel comfortable, I find myself getting tongue tied and forgetting what I wanted to say about the products. Soooooo frustrating.

I need my party tomo to get me more bookings otherwise I have none booked in after tomorrow, Going to try the free prize draw . At what point in the party do you mention future bookings, and what ways are there of getting people to book if at first they say no?

    Sorry for all the questions.

You guys all seem to be doing really well.
  • Hey guys,
Had my call from my lovely manager, she said i have to get 6 parties book for between 8th Dec and 16th Jan pref by sunday, which is do-able as i have some ideas already. However, do the parties have to be in my local area? Do the products get sent to the host? Its just i have a friend who lives in south wales and i tend to go and visit her in the holidays and wondered if its possible i could host one of my parties there and the stuff gets sent to her house?
    thanks
    Alexa xx
  • Alexa, you send the party orders to the host anyway unless you do an order for stock in which case you add this stock order to a party order that is close to your home, and then drop the orders off to the host. You can do parties anywhere you wish to travel - my mum lives 2 hours away yet i do parties at hers every few months.

try bigging up the idea of a january pamper party with the sale and ne lines etc, and then say "so whos having the next party then?" a it later on - (thanks to whoever on here gave out that tip before)
Have you been in store yet? try your local store and do a prize draw there for a couple of hours, its a good way to get talking or get peoples numbers you can call later.

Your commission is taken off each orders value... ie party order £200 less discount (your commission) £50 total to pay £150.

If everyone pays by card you will get (£50) shown up with means they owe you £50.

If some pay by cash &/or card then you keep the excess... so you get your cash on the night!

Hope this makes sense to you.x
  • Thanks for that Becci, does that really work just saying that? Must be pretty mortifying if nobody replies , lol!!
I just want to make this one really good :) Im £50 away from ss2

Hows everyone else been doing this week?
Im finding the neroli jasmin, shimmers waves and vitamin c boost are selling really well
  • ive done it twice and it has worked, they tend to talk among themselves and say 'oh laura, you should have a party', etc. sometimes you can tell when its not going to happen with bookings but if you think its a possibility you have to push it over and over throughout the party with the host benefits, maybe take a booking gift and put it on display, present one to the host at the start and say why shes getting it then say that they could get free gifts if they book a party and refer to the booking gift on display.

yes im selling lots of those three too as well as the amphora and the xmas makeup, especially the glitter roller ball!
