Hi everyone
Hope everyone's OK. Have been in hospital with my 11 month old who needed a minor operation Monday and ended up with a few complications which meant we were in slightly longer than we expected. He's OK now we're just all shattered it's mentally exhausting.
Had my party Friday postpone til the following Friday which means that I don't have any parties left in November and I am just short of hitting the £1200 level - bit annoying but it's not worth buying anything myself as what I'll get back will be less that I have to spend.
Well, I now have 5 parties in the first 2 weeks of December so hopefully I'll do OK in December and make up for the slightly worse November than I was expecting. 2 parties cancelled otherwise I'm pretty sure I would have hit the £1600 target I had set myself.
Never mind hope all is going well with everyone in our little community!

Hi guys,
good to hear how well ppl are doing, especially glad everything's ok now your end Bodyshopbabe, that must have been scary.
Just thought I'd share, I have a party on Fri that I have to be at at 7, but a friend of mine has just got me a space to do a stall at this mini Christmas market type event her work is holding, which is also Fri and 12-7. So obv I'd have to leave before 7 (but don't think I'd wanna stand there 7 hrs anyway!!) I'm getting back to them tomorrow to confirm my place, it's just it's £20 for the table and I'm not sure it'll be worth it. I want to do it and if I didn't have the party it'd be a definite yes, just means I'll be leaving my little girl all day long which makes me feel a bit guilty!
Guess it's always gonna be a 'risk' if you like at these things as to whether I'll make any money, but hopefully whatever I do make I can add to my friends party that night. Plus it's in a David Lloyd leisure club and as far as I know only members are invited so hopefully the ppl there will have a bit of money to spend!! and even better if they book parties with me!
btw Bourbonsbabe that sounds so great!! Imagine if you do get that regularly, wow, should be fab!!
as for tips on fundraisers, I've only done one! I gave out free prize draw slips and pulled it at the end of the event, I gave them to anyone who ordered. I like the idea of collecting them up and drawing them monthly though.
Also I took along a 'lucky dip' bag with tiny prizes in wrapped in tissue paper for ppl who booked a party with me, though noone did haha!! So maybe you'd be best getting tips from someone else as that's about all I know!
ooh although, I'm going to make a little stand up sign thing advertising the 20% off all seasonal products to display at my event if I do it on Fri, and I've just bought some Christmas gifts for my own personal shopping on my last order, and I'm going to take them along to display seeing as it's a Christmas event.

Are the feet hugs available to us for £9? I swear I saw them whilst ordering a couple of days ago and now I cannot find!
Had first party with people I dont know tonight.
Went ok, but I find I rush through the catalogue too fast, I forget things I was going to say/want to say, so frustrating I guess its just nerves, also the party tonight did not really talk amongst themselves much so I found it a bit more nerving!I seem to be getting less confident the more I do which is sooooo weird
Might have a recruit from it though. How quick do you get the make up box if they sign up? Hehe
Thanks0 -
They were but that has ended its the new kit build now.
The new recruit needs to do £425 in sales before you get the make up box.:j0 -
I've got my party swap party tonight and she's coming to me on Monday to do a pampered chef one, although I don't think many are coming. Sounds mean but im not to bothered as long as i get the sales from tonight!
Had a look through the pampered chef catalogue to see how 'it works' for me, hard to understand but as i can tell, for me to even get a £30 gift for free, the party sales need to be £600, big difference to that of our reward sceme! Don't think i'll be getting any freebies as it is quite dear!0 -
Hi everyone!
I had my first party last night and got £214 which I didn't think was too bad, but I'm aiming for a lot more at the next one!

Hi katy, I did an all day event on a saturday that cost me £20 for the table. It was really well advertised but due to location and bad weather it was terrible, I made £1!
It does depend where they are and who will go but no one seems to be doing particularly well at ones where there are a lot of other stalls. It's up to you though and I'm sure some people make it work but £20 is a lot of money to spend. Do you have things to sell on the day are will you be hoping for orders? Most people don't go to fairs etc to buy stuff they have to order and if there are a lot of other stalls you may have trouble getting people talking long enough to get them to book a party. Offer hand massages maybe to get them sitting down?
Hopefully some one else will be able to give you some more positive advice!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Thanks to everyone for their kind words re Charlie. Good news is he seems so much better now he's home and in a familiar environment.
Well done Lauren on your great first party sales!

I have to agree with Ragz re Christmas fayres. I think you will struggle to get back your table money from sales. My colleagues have struggled too with sales on the actual night. However, I got 2 bookings from the first one I did (1 cancelled though) and I got 1 booking from the second one I did so overall I think if you go in with the intention of getting bookings and recruits rather than big sales you will probably do OK.
I did hand massages and mini makeovers (eyes mainly) which were popular and I ended up making the stall money back but then again I only paid £6 for the stall! I think £20 is quite expensive for a stall I think £10 - £15 is average.
Good luck! x0
